If you guys see a cop hiding...
will you flash you lights at other cars approaching to let them know something is up?
on my street its a long stretch that is supposed to be 25 mph (which usually doesnt happen), but cops are always hiding to ticket people. at one point i've seen them park in front of my truck to hide. once in a while i get people flashing there lights to let me know, but not often enough for how many cops i see on my street.

nope, i never warn people. most of the time i just don't remember. once in a while i won't warn b/c i consider a majority of the people on the road to be rude and inconsiderate drivers. but most of the time, yea, just cuz i forget. lol.

I did all the time when I started driving, but I don't so much anymore. I just don't really remember to.
I also don't realize what is going on most of the time if someone happens to do the same for me. I start checking my lights to make sure I don't have my highbeams on or anything, then *boom* there's a cop on the side of the road and I realize what the person was trying to say.

the extent of my "vehicle communication" is flashing my brake lights at another truck that let me in front of them. But thats only when driving my work truck.
But a thank you wave is always mandatory. As for cops, I drove by them fair and square, why sould i give other people a advantage ...

I've heard that fashing your lights to warn oncmong traffic of a cop is illegal enough times to believe it unless it's proved otherwise.
Most of the time I forget too... the rest is a combo of the "i had no warning why should they" and the other people being bad drivers to begin with

I brake for squirrels.
Even though most of my friends aim for them.

i accelerate for crossing animals. i got a squirrel last week with the camaro and i almost got a deer once too, missed him by a couple inches.
as for the warning of cops with flashing lights thing: i do it all the time. there was a big court case for a cop that gave a dude a ticket for it and the guy fought it and eventually one through the first amendment.

Used to but
A) Most people just think you are telling them highbeams are on
and
B) If a cop sees you, IIRC you can get ticketed.

On the highway yes. On a 25mph road, no way. I hope they get a ticket.

"improper use of highbeams" i got that ticket once,
Remember in drivers ed, they teach you that you cant have your highbeams on with 500ft of a vehicle in front of you, approaching or otherwise...thats usually what the cops ticket for,
but i didnt get it for warning about a cop, i was sorta chasing a car that cut my friend off, and the cop saw me as i went through an intersection spinning my tires, lol. I was on the guys tail and flashed my highbeams, the cop pulled me over and thats what i got, instead of a bunch of other worse tickets i could have gotten, but that was years ago when i was stupid, and wasn't immune to tickets like now

I believe the law is that on residental roads, cops cant you tickets because you have to see either there reflectors, lights or reflection of thier lights. I believe it is called police entrapment or something to that effect. Legally I dont think they are allowed to do it. If any of you have any cop friends ask them about it, i am sure that they will tell you. I know I have gotten out of some tickets because of that. Some words of advice, ALWAYS go to court when you get a ticket. usually the fine is reduced or you can actually get out of tickets. You have the right to call upon your accuser to explain what the situation was. If he dont show most of the time, either it will get dismissed or a lessen fine.
Do some research I am sure you will find an answer.
