started a diet...
well i finally said screw it and decided to go on a diet. in the past year ive noticed i had put on some more noticable pounds that i didnt have after high school.
so today, 8/30/06, i officially began this hell called a diet and exercise. I just got back from the food store where i just bought a ton of "good" food. including rice cakes, one of which im currently eating, and yes they taste like styrofoam, but i gotta make sacrifices. lol. Anyone that has met me will probably think "he doesnt really need to diet", but i sorta do, lol and i wanna loose about 25lbs and work out quite a bit more. In addition to changing my eating habits(pizza, wendys, cheese fries, burger king, lots of soad, etc), I also will be doing exercise for 1-1.5 hours daily. This wont be easy, but its gotta be done.... wish me luck...

Just exercise, eat a lot of meat and don't get cheese on everything! My system doesn't like vegetables, it makes me produce too much methane and that's not good for the ozone! I actually eat a lot of meat, very few vegetables or fruits, keep the cheese to a minimum and drink plenty of beer. I can't seem to get over 145 so the exercise and yard work must be helping a little. Oh, and with football season starting shortly, this will be the toughest time to diet. Buffalo wings, nachos and beer every Sunday FTW!

Good luck with the diet man. I'm kind of in agreement with everyone....exercising is the biggest part of this regimen. And you don't need to "diet" in the traditional sense, just clean up what you eat. Like you said, cut out all the fast food. Eat a lot of protein in the form of eggs, red meat, and chicken. Get your carbs from baked potatos, rice, and green vegetables. Fruits and veggies are great sources of vitamins but not that essential to losing weight or gaining muscle mass. A good vitamin will take their place. Try to eat 6 small meals a day instead of 2-3 large ones. Tuna and things like trail mix make great mid day snacks.
I keep my workouts to 45 minutes to an hour a day and haven't run in a good 2-3 years and I'm still fairly defined and carry enough mass to look "big". Think "smarter not harder" when it comes to diet and exercise. If you need any workout or diet tips shoot me a PM and I'll help you out.

Chop up more cars by crawling in, over and around them. Crawling under, and out from under, a car many times a night will burn calories.

diet and excercise is the most efficient way to lose weight. but for men, eating full meals fills you up more, you eat less meals, no snacking. men can also work out and not have to diet because they use up more of the calories. and remember, muscle weighs more than fat.

ehh you should eat 6-7 small meals a day to keep your metabolism going all day long rather then eat 3 full meals a day.

V and WBT are right, if you dont eat for a while your body starts to slow down your metabolism so it can preserve what is has

yes, that's true, but what i meant to be ponting out is that women snack a whole lot more thoughout the day when they get hungry, where as a guy will eat a meal instead of a snack, which usually contains more protein than snack foods loaded with calories. men don't really have to diet, because they generally already have better eating habits, they just need exercise.
