				woot RAM is good

well I decided to reward myself & my laptop with a bit of a ram upgrade up to 1gb...thanks to Justin for his advice but in the end I found the best price possible which as usual was at my favorite store(Best Buy) even cheaper then any of the online stores like newegg & such. Got home, installed it, didnt fry anything & damn is this thing like 5x faster loading programs hehe.

Al, go to www.crucial.com. You enter your computer model and it brings up the RAM that's compatible with your system. I always get my RAM from them. Good prices and great quality.

The second one, DDR PC3200 is faster. I've always bought from Crucial and never had any problems. But I would definitely check out the other sites mentioned as well and see how they compare. I own a Dell as well, and you can go to their website and put in the service tag of your computer and it will tell you how much RAM your system was built to handle, so you know how much more you can add in to it.

Kingston or Samsung is what you should stick with Al. Crucial and Corsair are good, but they are more expensive and designed for performance applications.
Kingston and Samsung both have a lifetime warranty, and both are recommended by this geek
Al - hit me up on AIM and I'll help you pick out what you need....looks like it's DDR 2100. Buying anything faster than that (2700, 3200, etc) will do you no good unless you are overclocking the machine.

also you have two slots meaning you could get 2 512 sticks or just add a 512 stick to what you have, or add a 256kb stick to what you have, etc.
