So I got up early and managed to be first in line (I know I'm a geek) - got my pre-order at exactly 10:00. Now all i have to do is wait for 11/17!

PS3 is too expensive IMO...$700?!?!? im gonna wait till the first price drop i think...

im gonna wait a couple of weeks & get my 4 year old PS2 then hope the price drops to $99 so I can get the price match once the PS3 comes out hehe. She needs a new DVD player since her old one broke...this will do that & keep her busy when need be.

I'm waiting to see real-world comparo's between that and xbox 360 before I even think about which one I'm going to end up with.....

honestly i dont know what im gonna do w/ it - I'm a huge PS fan but if those ebay numbers climb to near $2000 like they did with the 360 - i might have to part with it...

I made the code, and now when I go to play pg movies and up, I cant because I forgot the code I made like 3 years ago when I got it.

Is there a generic code?

I put $100 down - the system is gonna be $599 plus an extra controller and a game - and an HDMI cable - and...

$600+ good I doubt it but if your a gamer your a gamer & will pay the price...as for me Unless it goes to under $200 I probably wont be buying anytime soon. For $600 I would be 1/2 way to all gen 3 support + 2/3 bar custom Operating systems hehe so I'll pass on a video game system that I'll only use about 5 days out of the year at my age hehe

I play video games way too much.
I have PS1, PS2, nintendo, N64, atari.... but all were purchased WAY under $300?!?!?!?

I just couldn't justify $600+????

only way i'd buy one of those things the day they came out would be as an investment.. aka throwing it on ebay when no one else can get one

I was a gaming nerd back in my day... I have EVERY video game console/device known to man minus N-Gage, Nintendo DS, and Dreamcast (which I owned at one point, but sold since the lack of new games so quickly).
I think PS3 will have the better games, but the 360 will dish out the better graphics. I know that for a fact cuz playing on my 360 is amazing

Thats what me and a few friends are considering doing to make a quick buck. To buy it and then put it up on eBay the very same day and see if we can turn $700 into $1500

i beg to differ, the ps3 has like 4 different GPUs doesnt it?? i havent been keeping tabs on it. IMO anything above $250 is too much to spend on a game console. i finally caved in and bought a PS2 last september, so theres no way im getttin ps3 soon.

I'm planning on camping out at work (Best Buy), and getting it the first day. Might resell it depending how much they go for (like if they are worth double the retail...I got bills!)...saw someone sell an Xbox360 the first day for like 1200 - 1600 for the core (paid $400).

same here, even thought my parents bought me a 360 and i told them to take it back and put the money in my bank account or my college fund.
