Motherland > my family
This might get kinda long and somewhat pointless.
My uncle has some kinda spinal desease. My mom calls the motherland from time to time and she talks to her mom and whatnot. Well over time she's been saying that her brother (my moms) has some kinda back problems and he's on meds but they dont seem to help very well cuz well they suck i guess. Well my unlce is a stubborn son of a bitch who refuses to go to the doctor, and i think thats where i got it from, he always said that it will go away and its not really that bad and he could get used to it over time. Well one day she came over and saw him on the floor rolling around in pain, and he actually had tears in his eyes. Now this is a 275 pound dude whos arms are the size of my legs and who could probably break anyones face with few shots. So she tryed to call help him up but he couldnt get up cuz the pain was unberable. They called the whambulance. blah blah blah fastforward.
Ok this is where its starts to get difficult to explain cuz my mom sucks at explaining and i dont know all those long russian medical terms/names cuz i didnt get a chance to learn them before 13...
Doc comes out and says my uncle has "...". dunno the name of it in english. basically something is grwoing on his spine which causes vertebraes to separate slowly one from another. As they separate, i guess, the nerves become hyperextended/extra senstitive/rip apart which causes agonizing pain. If left untreated he wont be able to walk pretty soon. Then he says they can operate on it but if they're unsuccessful he will be paralized for life (he's 30 years old) from waist down. If everything goes peachy he'll forget about it in a few months.
Ohh my grandfather has some blood desease that he's likely to die from.
um..i think thats all for today, tune in later for more news about silly russians.

It would take us years (most likely, my mom has been trying to get her mom to come back here since 2000 i think and still no luck) to get him here ligally. Plus he would have no insurance and operations like that are most likely very costly here. And we cant just pay for it in cash.

legally? have you been in this country for long?
take a tip from the mexicans who jump the border. come into the country illegally, get yourself on welfare, enjoy government benefits.

Update....
well my uncle is in a wheelchair now, the surgery is suppose to be tomorrow.
i guess there're some good news for him. He was transfered to a military hospital which are far superior in my country to regular hospital. The thing is only active duty military personal qualify to be there. But with a few strategic phone calls he was admitted.
Last night he was suppose to get shots/pain killers and such stuff to make him sleep easier. But the piece of **** doctor decided to go to sleep at 8pm and the nurse said she wouldnt wake him up. So my uncle rolled around in pain til 5am til someone came. This of course did not make my relatives in Russia happy, and if they're unhappy my mom is unhappy. And when all of them are unhappy they start dialing certain numbers. Last nights results, one doctor fired, one nurse fired, surgery will be thursday (tomorrow) instead of monday. And i guess the best thing for my uncle is they got some Sergeant Major dude to operate on him, my mom said he one of the top military docs in motherland. He came from Moscow and will be performing his surgery instead of the asshat that was fired. Doctor said the surgery is very is very hard and, it will also be done under the microscopre (i dunno what thats all about).
I think thats it for now...

Best of luck to him, I'm sorry to hear about his situation. I guess the best thing you can do right now is to keep your mom calm.

Update 2
Thanks.
The surgery went well, and he can move his legs now, slitghly. They said it will probably be around 6 or so months before he can actually walk normal again. But i think they fixed everything that was wrong. I got a vaue discription from my mother but she was happy, so it means everything was good. Now he just needs rehab, and lots of it. But he should be fine.
Now they just gotta fix my grandfather, cuz with all that stuff going on nothing was done about that. He says he feels fine and doesnt wanna do nothing
