Getting headers... but have a question.
Okay i've looked on both QTPs website and SLPs, and have come to no avail on whether or not i can hook up the QTP longtubes into a SLP y-pipe (since it would fit into my SLP exhaust with no hastle[hopefully])
My question is should i just forget the QTP headers and just go directly with the SLP stainless longtubes and Y-Pipe to eliminate any problems that i could possibley run into. I have heard that you lose around an inch of ground clearance with SLP longtubes, but my car isn't lowered at all. And my other concern is will the headers stick out underneath and be seen from behind, because thats not what i want. The more hidden the better. Anyone that installed headers please help me out, this is my first time doing anything major with this car, and would like to get it perfect the first time. Thanks.

Take my advice... since its gonna be your first time doing it, get stage 8 locking bolts and be very careful with screwing them in

Your going to have to modify your SLP exhaust no matter what brand you go with. The y-pipes run further back then where they used to be. A stock y-pipe would regularly run under your oil pan, where as long tubes run the y-pipe behind the transmission. You'll only need to saw-zall a small amount of your cat-back. Also the y-pipes don't interchange between brands, they are made to fit their own brand.
As far as ground clearance is concerened, SLP's are known to hang kind of low even on stock height cars. QTP's tuck up really nice, but no matter what someone can still tell if you have long tubes, because thats just the way it is. The only way you can avoid seeing something like that is to stick to crappy shorties or mid-length headers.
Defenitly invest in good set of header bolts though. Stage 8 or ARP both work very well. And before you dive into a header install yourself, make sure you soak any and all bolts with some kind of penetrator so you don't break any header bolts. Just be gentle, take your time, and have plenty of room underneath the car since LT's get installed from the bottom.

I'll be doing the job on my friends lift which will save a ton of time. Will i have to unbolt any engine mounts going in from the bottom?

Nope, if anything all you'll just need to removeyour oil filter, so just do an oil change after you finish installing the headers.

Speaking from Experience having had ALOT of headers already, the SLP's fit like crap and leave about 10 HP on the table to the QTP's. I loved my QTP's but I am going with Kooks now. I would say get either the Kooks or the QTP's but stay away from the SLP stuff.

maybe now would be a good time to get some polyurethane motor mounts.

stay away from SLP's...go with qtp's or kooks if you can afford them...I had pacesetter coated & was pretty pleased with them.

im sure any exhaust shop with 1/2 a brain can get it to fit
my pacesetter setup fit my borla with a little cut to fit work using a sawsal.

all you would have to do is modify the mid pipe.......ive done that on my exhausts hundreds of times........
i went from
pacesetter longtubes and y to a borla
to

to

All you need to do is have the shop who finishes the y-pipe up to trim a little off the slp cat-back. The y-pipe is 3" your cat-back is 3" so its all good.
