Cold Air Intake

Is there really any difference between the K&N intake and the SLP intake besides the look and the actual air filter? Is one really any better than the other?

the slp/gm/lingenfelter ones that are constructed of tubing have been shown to make a few more ponies that the k&n ones. less turbulance allows for a touch more flow. nothing great, but one test i found showed 3hp with the gmpp/slp one.

the normal ones with the big bulge in them open up, then have a sharp angle sticking into them and then bottleneck down again

the SLP one has two straight, mandrel bent tubes that then merge into a 3 1/2" collector

which seems better to you?

the SLP one gets HOT dude. I had it before the Ram Air setup and it just absorbed all the heat it could under the engine bay

Seriously, check this thread out - http://www.njfboa.org/forums/showthr...ghlight=intake

I duplicated the same thing for my TPI Monte Carlo SS. Works much better than the factory stuff, and is budget friendly for money misers like me!
