Throwing a Code!!!!

Just got back from Autozone because my car was throwing a code. The kid there scaned it for me and told me it was something with the second bank catalyst. I forgot to write down the exact code number!! Any ideas on what it could be? My cats maybe?? Thanks Guys

Yes, that is a trouble code for your second bank catalytic converter- OR it could be a failed after cat O2 sensor.

Thanks Bill. If it is the cat isnt it covered by GM? I had the same problem before but it was bank one. I just checked the invoice and they only replaced that cat not both. Now its the other cat? Now the problem is my car is not under the warranty that I had when I bought it used from a dealership. Are they going to charge me to do the work?

If you are no longer under warranty you will (more than likely) get charged for this. I don't think it will be too expensive. If you want to get an estimate and post up what they plan on charging you we can give you an idea of how good a deal you are getting.

There is a recall on some of the LS1 cats so I would take it to the dealer and see what they say. They should replace it for free if it falls under the recall.
