no longer allowed to sell parts on the board

i have a question to everyone on the board who i have gotten parts / cars from or sold parts or cars to, my adds will be canceled due to the fact they think i am making money off the board, so what due you guys think, i would like to know, i cant afford to pay to try and sell parts, i would make a donation if i sold some parts or a car but if its not sold due to the board why should i have to pay?

To be fair, Paul (SmokingSS) pays his freight (PEH P&P).

How I understand it to work is by not sponsoring yet taking advantage of the same opportunities as those who sponsor leaves little incentive for playing by the rules. It undercuts contributing sponsors, which isn't fair to them, who help enable the very existence of the board.

I think some people <you are one of the ones in question> who contribute absolutely nothing to this website are just here to sell their stuff. It may be a little different if you werent parting vehicles out and selling all the parts from it (like what paul does). Since he is a paying sponsor and you are not, the problem is that you are stepping on not only Pauls toes, but you are using more than your share of space on the boards that the normal person does and you are not contributing (either monetarily or through activity) here. I think what the administrators are doing is the correct way to deal with you and this problem.

Its not the paying part, its the fact that 98% of the time you post, its In the classifieds. Im sure they would let you use the classifieds if you had more posts in other sections, instead of using njfboa, as an ebay

I agree with what the above people said. But I'm probably biased, as I have almost 300 posts, and the only ones in classified were for stuff I was interested in buying, never sold anything or tried to.

i dont mind making a donation, but in regaurds to parts or cars i dont agree,
i would make a donation only after a part or car is sold on the board then make the donation to the board for helping the sale, but if the parts or car for sale never sell or are not sold on the board then why pay? most of the time i just junk the stuff, i dont get involved with other posts it not my place, i will in the future have more to due and meet more people when i am able to have something nice for both me and my wife to pull up together in the 2 cars with the 5 of us now, at witch time i will not need anymore parts or cars just the 2

There is nothing wrong with selling parts - but it looks like you sell a whole lot more then the average guy - appearing to be a business, regardless of whether you make profit. And that throws you out of the average club member selling stuff realm.

FWIW, if you are not making $$ on all these parts you sell, you are wasting valuble time you will never get back - kids, cars, wife, whatever. Just my $.02, no offense meant. Life is too short.

If you are making some scratch, ponying up a sponsorship may give you more creedence with members who do not know you. Of course, if anyone in your town catches on you are advertising, I bet your house is not zoned for that. So it is a crap shoot.

Eh, who cares? Its the internet. People are getting parts and cars or both from this guy, and he hasnt bugged anyone here. He is great to deal with and is a heck of a nice guy overall. I dont think that Ted should pay just cause he uses the site to sell parts that WE want! Ted's contribution to this site IS the trillions of parts the man has!!

the "it's the internet" argument is meaningless.
fact is that we have a paying sponsor who parts out cars, we have policies listed in the classifieds forum rules about people who exclusively use the club forums to make money, and we expect those who's only interest is to cash in on our membership to help support those same members by supporting the club.
these are rules that were requested by our members and we will stand by them.
ted has been offered the opportunity to contribute and has declined that opportunity. the offer is open if he cares to step into the advertising sponsor role anytime in the future.

Its not my site, what I say or what I feel has nothing to do with the final choice made by the owners of this site.

like i said i dont mide making a donation off of what sells on the board but i dont want to spend anymore money on this habbit of mine than i half to,
i have been into cars my whole life even when i almost lost my life after a car accident, i am in extreem pain from the accident everyday, i dont take medication due to the fact i can get a short fuse and get really mad easly, stripping cars and selling the parts is the theropy i use to deal with my injury, seeing other people happy with the parts is the thrill i get, as fars as the parts are concerned.

if someone does not buy the wrecked car before it get to the junk yard the parts are lose forever, cosmos aka green acers no long sells parts any car that goes in there is crushed with in day, there are a few select people who can buy cars and parts from them i just happen to be one of them, i wanted to save as many parts and cars as possible. and help other people out with them

this is going on - on all of the car sites - how does the site take advantage of the windfall of the site with out chasing people away -- the sites i see have a voluntary donation at a fixed percentage 2 / 3 percent of sale on items not sure on big stuff what they do -- its fair to all - cept for the jac$ass who wont help the site and wants all for himself, yet their the first to give someone stuff about getting paid - racingjunk .com has a neat way of doing it just for an example -- if you use the site for what ever reason you should be responsible enough to help out with some coin, if you because of the site sell things, that otherwise you would have to pay for an add to have sold otherwise --- well dig dude buck up -- its only fair you use you contribute -- just my 3-1/2 cents -- jz

False... he only comes to the board to sell stuff (that anyone's seen) and what you said is not the case if he keeps getting more stuff to sell.

its simple i had 25 f-bodys, got in trouble with the town i am now down to 7 out of that 7 i will get down to 3 possibly 2, a close friend of me has 15 f-bodys that he is going to fix and sell and about 25 cars worth of parts and hardly ever sell anything but now he wanted me to let people know he had stuff for sale, he has the biggest collection of parts i have seen, amoung all my friend with parts or cars for sale, to make it simple when i want to sell something i want it gone, and it usally gets a week then its gone

to make it simple just find me if you want something or post a wanted ad,
if you buy it i will send in the donation,

the only thing i ask is to let the 91 trans am add to run, if i sell it complete or sell parts from it i will send the donation in,
