getting engine, cam, head specs...

ok i have the 383 im trying to sell, but i have no clue where the paperwork on it is. I cant exactly remember the specs of the engine, ie the cc's of the heads or cam specs mainly.
The heads i wanna say are 64cc and all i remember about the cam is the lift is .525.

Can i just unbolt the heads and bring them to a machine shop and then have then measure the cc and valve sizes? i assume that'd be easy for a shop.

As for the cam, could they measure that too or would that have to be done while the engine is still all assembled in order to get the numbers?
im also thinking there may be a part # on the cam once its out that will help. Its a grind from doug herbert performance.

I am seeing that itll be easier to sell the 383 in peices so i guess i need all these numbers more now than before, lol. oh well...

the cams pn should be carved in the front of the cam.... crane cams are that way i dont see why dhp wouldnt...

a engine shop can cc the heads....there might be a way to do it at home tho.. not sure...

Pull the valve cover and get the casting numbers off of the heads, maybe that can give us an idea of what cc the heads are. As for the cam, you can use a dial indicator on the rocker arm to measure lift. Then you can probably match it to a cam in the Herbert catalog.
