Talking Back from the road trip!

Got home around 230am today. As some of you know, I sold off my f-bodies last year and ever since, I've been wanting another car to work on. Well, Melissa and I went on a little road trip down to Texas to pick up the new car

It's a 1955 Plymouth Belvedere

Can't wait to start working on it. It's solid with no rust except for the passenger fender around the headlight. It's got a second gen suspension under it right now and I'll probably keep the front but switch the rear to a Mopar 8.75 rear. Next step, try and find a 392 hemi

Here's a few pics from the trip

we found this fun road to drive along

3rd gen pace cars at the auto museum in Talladega

on the infield at Talladega

victory lane

on top of turn 4, 40 feet up

There was this tour of classic cars that showed up while we were there
Caddy & 3rd gen

Vette

Caddy, 56 Chevy, and the Belvedere in the background

41 Ford & 54 Chevy

59 Chevy

57 Chevy

This 66 Chevelle was drag raced in 692 races from 66-68... and won 676 of them

ouch

Looking over North Carolina on I-77

there's oil in Texas

...in case you need your tires detailed

Leaving Memphis over the Mississip

Brownsboro, TX. The place that time forgot. We must have seen three dozen old cars just sitting around waiting to be restored.

They guy I bought the car from had a nice collection of cars he was working on...

57 Chevy

55 Chevy

64 El Camino

he's selling this 55 chevy 1/2 ton

as well as this pro-street 66 chevelle

We didn't sleep much, but it was an awesome trip, except for Jeff offering free bj's in Atlanta, and the masturbating truck driver in Frystown

3100 miles in 4 days.. i need a month to recover now, but it was so much fun ..

there was a few important things that he forgot to mention that we learned...

if you see mold that looks similar to stalactites at the nameless Inn you're staying at in Tennessee, chances are there won't be any hot water..

In Atlanta, a Plymouth is the same as a Chevrolet, but in Talladega a Mustang becomes a Camaro.

Everything is bigger in Texas; their bugs are prehistoric sized and rain drops are roughly 1 gallon each.

Exit 18 off 77 in North Carolina is completely and totally useless. They have a gas station that closes early, another one that's on an island surrounded by guardrail that you can't get a truck with a trailer to the diesel pump, along with three hotels, all of which are broken. It needs to be taken off the map.

A 10 minute oil change can take 45 minutes in Virginia, which will turn into 2 and a half hours.

Lastly, I don't care what anyone says.. Texas is really ******** far.....

Thanks, I forgot a few things

Also, one of the gas stations off exit 18 doesnt actually have gas.

Watch out for the one armed man in Jackson, Mississippi.

And if you cant get a room at the Elvis hotel, dont stay in Memphis

I got the bathroom key from the guy inside and went in and written on the wall was something to the effect of "My name is Jeff, I like to give free BJ's. Meet me here every night at 300 am." Right underneath was a makeshift hole cut into the side of the stall.

On our way back we stopped at a truck stop in Frystown, PA off 78. It was around 9pm or so and I walk into the mens room and I thought I was the only one in there, until I heard the distinct sounds of masterbation coming from one of the guys standing at the urinal. I quickly left, and he kept on going. I'm scarred.

He was asking 3500 rolling or 4500 with a rebuilt 350 and trans. The body is in perfect shape with no rust. It looked like he had just finished all the body work. I can give you his # if you want it.
