snow blowers

im thinking about getting my dad a snow blower this x-mas. i think he would really like that. my biggest problem is that i dont know much about them. if you guys have one and you are happy with let me know so i can get some ideas. its gotta be fairly big because i got a big driveway. i can spend up to about a grand on it. let me know what you think

ariens is a good brand. We have an 8hp one that my grandfather had, it's gotta be at least 10 years old and its still ticking away.

When I was pricing them a few years ago, they seemed to run ~$100 per HP. So the one above is in the range. That is a big one, might be too big for around here. Where does Dad live?

Sam's club always seemed to have good deals each year.

I love the honda's we've had one for years and it still starts up like new every year. Only thing thats ever had to be replaced is the bolts on the auger but thats just a safety feature if you get into some hard snow.
