The human body is a strange animal...

OK, I've been REALLY sticking to my eating program since I started it back in Oct. I drank one beer on Halloween, and that's been it for alcohol. And even though I was invited to two Thanksgiving dinners, I only had one average sized meal at each one, and they were spead out far enough to constitute my second and final meals for that day. Well, last night I went out for pizza and beer with my buddy in NY. I started to drink a beer before our pizza arrived, and I felt like somebody was bashing on my head with a hammer. We had ordered salads to go w/ the pizza, so the salads came out, and after I ate some of the salad I felt better. Then the pizza arrived, and we started eating. The pizza at the place we went to is a different style than your average pizza: it is dough and cheese, and cut into strips. And they give you sauce on the side to dip it in. Anywho, it is still really good. Well, after eating some, I though I was going to hurl, and I started to get acid reflux really bad. We couldn't even finish the whole pie, when in the past we put away at least 2 pies. Before I left for my ride home I had to stop at a 7-11 and get some Pepto Bismol to calm my stomach down, and I had to take some Advil for my head. Then I stopped in Pa to get gas, and I drank a Gatorade, which seemed to help me "adjust." Then when I got home I drank my pre-sleep protein drink and hit the sack. Geez, I was really looking forward to my first "normal" outing with some beer and pizza, and it REALLY kicked my azz w/o much effort!
