How does this grease gun work?

Bought a mini grease gun from Autozone the other day as I figured a mini 3oz gun would be easier to fanagle inder the front of my truck than the big 14oz one. When I load up my regular sized gun i simply pull the lever back and lock it into position and swap cartrages. This little POS wont lock, i tried pulling it to an angle and i tried twisting it, no way would it lock, I had to have my brother insert the cartrage while i was holding it back, am i missing something or is it supposed to be a 2 man job? Naturally i cant find the instructions because i probably threw them out, anyone else have one of these mini guns? Am i missing something or am i retarded?

I have a small gun like that also, sounds like you got a dud because mine pulls back and locks to the side like a 14oz does.

I have one of the smaller grease guns and you pull it back all the way and there is a small slot to angle it to the side a little to hold it while you load the cartridge. You might not be pulling the handle far enough back. Either that or try the arm flapping.

Eh....Autozone grease guns FTL either way. I bought one there to keep in the Jeep, and it leaks like a mofo. It now sits in my closet wrapped in plastic.

I have a small grease gun somewhere,I used it maybe once.I like my full size gun, in fact I just replaced my large gun.
I bought one from pep boys 12.99, works great, also bought
castrol syntec grease 5.99. This grease is pretty neat aqua blue
color super slick, not that black messy stuff. If I can remember
my little gun doesn't have a pull back handle you just drop in the
 cartridge and pump the lever.
