Beer AND Pizza!

Alrite guys the last thread died.
I am having a problem with my car and need some help fixing it. I have an 85 camaro with a sbc 350 carbed motor in it.
Blown head gasket.
I started tearing down what I could today, took off all the wiring making sure to label everything, undoing the alt, headers, valve covers and carb.
All the bolts have been taken out of the intake and the dist is loose. I cant get the dist out of the car, I think I have to tilt the motor to take it out. I also cannot for the life of me pull off the intake. Other than that all i have to do is take off the head so i can send it to the shop if it even needs that.
Now after taking both valve covers off I noticed only the drivers side had oil and coolant mixed in it.

Who would like to help me finish this for some pizza and beer? Im free for the rest of today. From 12 on tom, sat and sunday all day.

its not really a "idea" with the distributor as it's really "the way to do it" kind of thing.

Lol well thank you for teaching me the way. I'm kinda proud of how far I got seeing as I don't have any real experience. If I didn't have to start work at my newly transfered job on Monday I would have completed it myself. Maybe ill pick up a cheap motor and try to build it.

"how to build max performance chevy small blocks on a budget"
-david vizard

takes you all the way from the tear down to parts matching and what cam/heads to get, all of the good stuff, plus there are ten dyno proven engine setups in the back of the book. a MUST HAVE for anyone thinking about building their own motor, as he not only tells you what to use but why to use it - what tools are needed, etc. david vizard is a master engine builder.

Hey jim, i just took a look at that awareness day page. It def moved me after watching one of the videos...and make me think. I just moved back from living in North Carolina for 3 years. I installed cable down their and traveled all over doing it, and alot o the times ended up in the middle of some crazy country trail park in which. They had cages and cages of dogs but never thought anything of it. If only i saw that video a few years ago the things i would have said/done.

it doesn't matter about what was, it only matters what you do now. you sound like an intelligent individual; you just need a little education. videos like the ones on AwarenessDay opened my eyes. but, i have known about puppy mills for years. i just never made the connection between them and pet stores. now that i know, i will only go to shelters to adopt. there was a special on HBO a while back, kind of like a week in the life of an animal shelter. when they euthanized the "office dog" i shed a tear. it's not easy knowing some of the nicest dogs out there are being killed at a rate of one every 9 seconds. if only i had the resources, i would adopt a lot more of them. but, if we all pass the word along, it's like you are doing your part to help the situation.

someone once said, "If you are not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem." i think that goes double for this situation.
