I was so happy she finally won. She had made it to the finals a couple other times but couldn't get the win light. She is now the 1st female to win an event in Funny Car and the 1st female to be #1 in points for Funny Car. GO ASHLEY!!!
It has been a great week for female drivers between her and Danica.

That was kind of odd that he suddenly takes a bad launch after being solid all day. But things happen right?

I think so....he doesn't strike me as the type that would just give her a win, but I guess we'll never know.

If you saw Johns reaction afterwards, he clearly was upset he didn't get the win. Me and steve were discussing the chances that maybe Coil made him spin the tires off the line, but John definitely didn't plan it that way. He was noticeably PO'ed afterwards, she looked like she was ready to cry because he was mad.

yeah, the shots iw as talking about were after that, when they talked to john, he barely went over to give her a hug, she really looked like she was biting her lip, but only they know.

i like how right before the race he asked on the radio "is there any chance this thing will spin the tires on me" and the crew chief said "no, it should go go go"

John is definitely not the type to throw a race, I think he was asking to make sure that Coil or Bernie didnt. John has beaten all of his drivers before and runs hard. I dont think even if John hadnt spun that he would have won anyway, Ashley had the fastest pass of the weekend that run.
I think John was pissed afterwards because he suspected someone of throwing it. He was pissed. He was solid all weekend, and all classes were good in that lane except for a few passes, and Top Fuel right afterwards was good in that lane so I'm sure he was suspicious.

She had the fastest pass, and I believe she also tree'd him pretty well too. Young reflexes....

I think if you watched NHRA at all, you would realize that John Force is a racer, it doesn't matter who is in the other lane. If anything, since he's the team owner, she should have lost to him for it to be a "set up." If anything was set up, it was done by the pit crew without his knowledge and I'm sure there was a little talk back at the pits between John Force and Austin Coil.
