coolant leak

Ok so i have a steady drip comign down from the block around the water pump. Thinking it was the water pump gasket i pulled the water pump figured id replace it cuz the cars got alot of miles on it and it looked like the stock one... i replaced that... this morning i start it up... still leaking... should i have taken a look at the timing gover gasket too? if that fails will it also leak coolant?

its a 95 3.4l

i checked the freeze plugs around that area and it looks fine.. engine runs fine... no leaking from around the intake base

is it comming out of the weephole in the water pump?

no its coming from behind the water pump where the timing cover is... im gonan get some stop leak pellets... been reading aroudn seems like it might do the trick

yeah good luck. done my timing case cover a couple times on the 3.4L. its a great time! really not all that bad. do you have the means of acquiring a coolant pressure tester? they work magic...

I would first try to locate the source first then band aid it with a additive. Unless you're totally sure that you can't find it.

its coming from there its just id rather try an additive before pulling the water pump power steering etc two days after i just had it all off...

Be careful with stop leak, could cause more problems than its worth.

corect it will plug the heater core in some cases -- jz

i dont see why coolant would be coming out from behind the timing cover. unless the water pump is part of the timing cover itself
