Anyone ever had a car shipped before?

What's procedure? Does title come with the car in transit? Would I get the title before the car came in so I could register and insure it so I could drive it from the shipping depot?
 Any insights would be appreciated

 | a good ship company will ship to your door at your convenience. mine came from ohio and was about $600 or so fully insured. ship company cares nothing about the title.

i had a quad and a car shipped...73 cuda from georgia cost 500 fully insured, had title mailed before car was picked up and had it in like a week, quad was complete different story, cost 250 fully covered from ohio and took a month and a half cuz the shipping company dicked us around and kept sayin they had a flat or they broke down or whetever.

It also depends on whether you want it enclosed or not? If it's coming a long way and is a real mint vehicle definitely get it enclosed. I did that with two of my cars. The driver gave me the title upon arrival.

The shipping company should be dropping the car off at your house so no need to get it titled and registered ahead of time. But if he is having it shipped to a depot then you might need to have it towed to your house. You could have him overnight the title so you have time to title and register it. It's really up to you and the seller. I usually have the title sent overnight so it can be tracked. Shipping a car has gone up big time and is probably close to $2000 to do coast to coast, especially an enclosed trailer.
