Got a band who no one seems to know? Post em up!
Why is it there are so many bands out there that get no play on radio?! If you know any good bands who aren't out there yet give them some play on this thread. I felt like sharing so I'll start with this...
The band's called Pearls & Brass, first 2 songs I heard by them were Highway Sermon and Spinning Wheel Blues, and I'm hooked. Unfortunately I can't even find the CD anywhere because radio won't give bands like this an opportunity to get big...they insist on playing boring **** that we've all heard 100,000 times. Thank god for Amazon.com
You can preview the whole cd, check it out...

I'm listening to them now... Thanks Matt.
Dead Season is another good one... The cover of Garth Brooks' "Thunder Rolls" is amazing.

I try to keep up with the local Jersey scene when I can, since a lot of my former students went on to play in bands and tour around. Two of my former students (the guitarist/lead singer, and drummer) are in The Bad Scene - it's good music with a punk/reggae feel to it. Their site is www.myspace.com/thebadscene - check out the tracks "Prodigal Son" and "Another Day" since you can play them right through the MySpace player.
The drummer from The Bad Scene is also playing with IDK - some of you might remember that name from back in the '90s as a Jersey punk band. They've reformed with two of the original members, plus the new drummer and a new guitarist (also a former student of mine). Their site is www.myspace.com/idknj if you want to check them out as well.

There was this band called "The Answer" that opened for AC/DC a few months back. They rocked pretty hard. The lead singer had this Robert Plant/Steven Tyler voice and attitude. He had a good voice and the music sounded good too.
They are an Irish rock band and played some pretty good rock.
