Video from Atco today
Here's a little video I put together of one of my runs. For anyone that doesn't know, the car has 180K on it and is putting along just fine. The car has most of the bolt-ons and was full weight today. A few tweaks and I may have a 12.3x run in the car. I need a new clutch so I can really launch the car and then blow the rear On this run I partial slipped the clutch from 5500rpm. A few of my launches where with the shift light on(it's set at 5800rpm). The car has the original motor/trans/rear/driveshaft and everything took the abuse just fine. My best 60' was only a 1.90 though. Anyway, here's the video. http://s168.photobucket.com/albums/u...roAtco2109.flv

Track was good early. Left lane wasn't as good as the right lane as usual. As the day went on the track went away, but not much, I ended up losing about 2 tenths in the after noon. I was still cutting 1.9x 60's without a problem. A stalled auto car was able to pull off some high 1.7xs 60's late in the day so it wasn't that bad. I got a few solo runs which was cool.

Car sounds really good and even better considering the mileage. I just remembered I still have your vid from last time at Atco. Totally forgot. I'll shoot it over to you.

Nice Vid, just curious are you prepared financially for a possibly rebuild. At that mileage and a few more 22 pass track visits the inevitable is bound to happen.

financially prepared....yes and no. I have about 2K in the bank so if I did blow the engine, I'd be able to afford a dropout engine from a wrecked car and throw it in the car, but I can't afford a full on rebuild of this motor. My dad was a mechanic for over 15 years up until 07 when he had a medical mishap so I have access to a few thousand dollars of tools and have a nice oversized 2 car garage if I ever needed to do the rebuild myself. I was one of the few that was hot lapping their cars as much as me. I was just testing how strong these LS1's really are. I lost some trap speed towards the end of day but the E.T. stayed in the low 12.7 range and I think my clutch may have just had enough. I'll be looking for 12.2's by the end of the season with weight reduction. BTW, my oil pressure did not drop below 40 psi at idle while doing the hot lapping. I will keep pushing this set up until it blows up. Btw, all of these runs were done with a bad bank 2 O2 sensor so the car wasn't running at it's full potential. I was an idiot for running as much as I did yesterday with a bad O2, but I was having fun . I might pull the plugs later on to see how they look.

I'm sorry that the camera person has A.D.D., was lucky I even got a video of the launch. The cameraman forgot to take the lens cover off the camera.

the tires were set at 19 psi hot, but after hot lapping I'm sure they went up a few psi. I only spun real bad once, majority of the time I bogged the car because I can't get on the gas too quick or overpower the clutch. The nittos are holding up good. Here's a burnout picture of them

lol. Well I have a spare rear just sitting in my garage that I picked up for cheap so I have that covered. One of my buddies f-body is currently blown up so if I needed a clutch really bad I could get a low mileage one for cheap, but I know what your saying. I was having a little too much fun with the 22 runs on such a high mileage motor, but damn, these ls1's can take a beating. I bet if I did that to an LT1, the intake manifold would of started leaking oil . j/k LT1 guys.

Yea, no major changes to the car besides tire and a TB. More seat time is definitely helping out. I'll probably be back later this month and try to limit myself to 10-15 runs and see if I can beat a 12.52.

here's another video from the group I went with. If you watch my passes you can see how loose my car gets on the 1-2 shift. I somewhat speedshift my 2-3 and 3-4 shift, but I'm afraid to end up loosing the car if I do it on the 1-2 shift.
