Is your itunes library still on the computer? Should be in the My Music file.

Not long ago I borrowed a friends 30gig Ipod and transfered his music onto my computer by exploring the Ipod as a physical drive, when I found the hidden music files I simply copy & pasted them onto my computer. Some files carried over their information others didn't.

I used to use iTunes...I switched to WMP. Less restrictive. Good luck re-adding everything, haha...stuff takes hours! How many songs did you have in there?

Itunes itself when you log into it will remember all the songs you payed to download so you can re download them if needed.
