				Bring car or no

Cannot decide whether or not I want to take my Z to college. Basically it would stay in a enclosed parking garage unless I need to get food, or if there are any car meets up north.
Parking garage rivals a federal prison in security, so not concerned there.

 Thoughts?

True... But is it worth saving the money but not being able to see your car for weeks in a row?

Maybe, I can add on parking on a monthly basis, so that wouldn't be huge.
Just stuck on needing a modus of transportation to get food and what not.

I'd leave it home. NJIT isn't in the best part of town. The parking garage is only marginally better than being on the street or in a lot. You won't really have a need for it, except to get to and from school, but you already said the train is cheaper. And at least with the car at home, you can concentrate on school, not worry about whether or not the car is being scratched, dinged, abused, stolen, vandalised, or otherwise mis-treated.
When I was a freshman in 91 I took my 1968RS Camaro to school (Glassboro State) occasionally and regretted it every single time. Constantly worrying about the car. Bring a car, fine, but its college....get a POS for that kinda duty. MY POS was a 1979 Olds Cutlass with T-tops, full factory gauges, tach, console, buckets, power everything that I picked up for $750. Had the anemic 260 V8, had almost no oil pressure but ran like a top for the next 4 years. I sold it with 150,000 on it, never left me stranded.

Some friends of mine who went to NJIT have had issues with car vandalism but they were commuters and it was before they had the parking garage.

Drive through that part of Newark all the time......leave your car at home!!!
Not to mention every Kid/Guy in Newark with an import is gonna want to race you. Drove the Iroc there once, never again. Nice American cars get waaaaaay to much attention in Newark. Do yourself a favor.

Nah, you're not gonna really need it there. The good thing about Newark is that everything is near you and you really don't need a car.

I know NJIT's frat houses are on high street, or now MLK.
