honda help

well my friend has a 91 honda with over 300k on it.

it uses oil like its going out of style. when she starts it up in the morning it puts out a big puff of smoke.

i did a tune up on the car along with an oil change with some lucas stabalizer and now she said it smokes more and seems to have a few more noises.

anyone have a clue whats going on.

she said she did have it worked on so she could pass inspection. the shop "tightened the valves" and to quote her it hasnt been the same since.

i thought it might be valve seals causing the puff of smoke. but as far as the tapping i dont know.

this is a 91 honda accord 2.2L

well threads kinda old but i know the valve cover gaskets like to leak into the spark plug tubes. did you notice any oil on the plugs when doing the tune up?
