probably just a straight up ohc motor with long spark plug boots. get yourself a nice long extension. just a question though...if you have no clue about these cars why offer to work on it??? especially when you dont even work on your own

If you have no idea you may want to get a Haynes or Chilton guide. Not that expensive and can save you if there's some wacky step involved.

i do work on my own. who do you think did the motor swap on my 98 and rebuilt the top end on my sisters old 94 camaro?

its not like i dont know how to work on a car. if i didnt have a clue i wouldnt offer help to others. its only a little 4 cylinder so i figured it would be like a honda. plugs right on top but im use to seeing a wire per plug. this only takes 2 coils also so i was just a little confused because ive never seen something with 4 plugs and only 2 wires and coils

I did not mean to insult your ability. It's just sometimes you find yourself in some f'd up situations- like when I decided to change the serp belt on an 02 Malibu only to find out you have to disconnect the left motor mount and jack up the engine...

Did you ever do this work? My mom has...well had a kia and honestly it was the worse car she ever had. She had the engine replaced at 30000 miles because a piston went through the block (warranty thankfully) but had nothing but issues during the entire life of it. I replaces everything on that car...

you gonna need a deep 5/8 spark plug socket or one with a locking ext.
if you have a problem w/ getting the plug out due to it dropping out of the socket everytime, use a piece of fuel hose and push onto spark plug and pull out.
same procedure just reverse to get them in so you don't f'up the gap when they drop into cylinder.

real easy car to work on except for the oilpump. (ha ha ha buried under t-belt )

If you need any help pm i worked on one of these, cyl 3 misfire is going to be a bad plug wire, sometimes the coil goes bad.
