2 MPG increase by....... very cool !!!! cHeCk ThIs oUt !!!

Just wanted to let you guys know...... check your friggin u-joints !!!!

2 weeks ago i replaced my u-joints in my truck cause 2 were squeaking and very very tight and 1 ready to fall apart

I do alot of driving so I am constantly monitoring my MPG.
since the swap to new u-joints my truck went from 17mpg to 19mpg and 20mpg on a good day (maybe no wind or something)

no other changes, get diesel fuel from same gas station every other day.... check this everytime I filled up..

2MPG for doing u-joints..... thats FOR THE MOTHERF'N WIN !!!!!

very tight u-joints = drag/rolling resistance. takes more hp/tq to turn something if it rotating mass is greater or has more drag.

put your e-brake on slightly and see the difference.....

the u-joints were completely siezed/rusted/roller bearings busted & jammed up in caps.

Pretty cool discovery. More MPG is always a good thing

yeah..... I couldn't believe it myself ! but the calculations don't lie, I even tried driving it a lil harder than usual and still got 1-1.5mpg more.. I do the same route in travel and travel the same 75-80 on gsp from exit 67 to 109.

That's pretty freakin cool. Kinda like the people with mis-adjusted drum brakes.
