wondering if anyone has a tranny they are selling, looking for almost anything from a 6spd to 700r4, as long as it has o/d and doesnt require me a rebuild to go behind an (est) 400hp 355, thanks guys!
*edit* also idk how hard it'll be to hook up behind my current setup lol, i've done stock swaps before (currently has a th350) but never switched to something else, i know with a slight move of the cross-members the 700r4 fits nice, 1979 camaro z28. thanks again guys!

I have a flexplate off an 85TA 2pc main seal block/700R4 trans. I'm not sure if you need to change flexplates or not.

Average cost for these things ready to go seem to be about 1600, I'd like to spend a little less, however if it's good enough I'll probably go 1800, and idk about the flex plate either, all I've done are truck transmissions and they were all stock replacements lol

Right now i'm running a holley 750 cfm that came with the car, however i'm thinking about running a qjet with an electric choke bc I love the qjet on my 78 with the small primaries, not sure of the cfm I should go

you'll need a new manifold too for a q jet.

for this swap you need the right linkage. if you don't setup the TV right you'll burn up the trans fast. IIRC bow tie overdrives has a nearly foolproof TV setup

Yes I know, right now it has an edelbrock air gap intake, was thinking about getting a plate to convert it to the spread bore that I think the qjet is. And I heard from a few places that the tv cable is crucial. I've never done a non electronic tranny so it's not plug and go like my suburban. does jakeshoe cover any of this in a sticky or something?

you gotta poke around, he probably did.
Does the current carb have vac secondaries? If so I'd keep the holley and add a kit that allows you to change the secondary opening spring. Add a heavier spring if you want to save some gas.

Kit looks like this, the black thing in the foreground. 4 screws, change spring, done.

hey, that 600 right there might be for sale in a few months, lol

No, all 4 open at the same time and it had no choke bc it was the guys track car, but it's my street machine and weekend warrior so the o/d and secondary issue is all for more reasonable gas consumption lol

All 4 barrels should not open at the same time. Post up the LIST number on the choke horn.
