What do you think its worth ?

I have been tossing around the idea of selling my camaro for a much wanted c5 corvette. It's one of my absolute favorite cars, to drive looks, performance.

I might have it up for sale towards the fall maybe, but I have no idea what to ask. . . Il break it down though.

I have been thinking 9,ooo$ would be a asking price

Maintenance
Plugs every third oil change (doesn't need it but if i am taking them out to check i just throw in new ones)
Oil changed every 5k miles with mobile 1 10w-30
All four brake calipers have been changed
Front stainless steal brake lines
PCV hose from both valve cover to throttle body.
Coolant hoses replaced
Water pump replaced
valve cover gasket
rear end fluid changed twice since purchase of vehicle

Soon to be done in the next few month

GM slave cylinder with tick performance adjustable master cylinder.
New front bumper will be painted and have a clear bra installed (someone hit me while it was in a parking lot and just took the paint off. 287 has put enough small chips that I am just replacing it)
New plugs and MSD wires
Probably going to have the car completely wet sanded when I get some feeback from a few body shops I talk to

What it could use
Driver side back rest is ripped on bolster and seat bottom is torn, I might use tax money to redo the one seat.
Rear sail panel roof has the dreaded bubbles again have been thinking of getting a new panel
Can't really think of anything else

Never been to the strip or a track at least since i have owned it.
I am sure there are more that I am forgetting

Don't mind the soot by the rear/right seat. . . . my magnaflows seperated there on the way down to a njfboa meet a few years ago

Speaking as an owner of a c5, they are real cheap now..why not keep the camaro and spend 10 large on a c5...and yes you can get one for that easy. The 2seater deal gets old quick and if your dailying it (not sure if you have a daily already) its not the best commuter. Thats the predicamet i'm in w/mine..i'd sell and have to start over on a stock camaro 5th again..figured i'd just keep it. Personally, I'd keep your whip..too nice to unload. If you need a wheelman and want to knock over the otb in sloatsburg, i can drive like ryan gosling.

Haha they do play a nice tune.

Well as of right now this is my daily. This fall I will be leasing the velostar turbo as a dd.

Your vette is the one that really got me looking harder.

I don't have enough room to have both nor do I have the income to upkeep, insure and store 3 cars. Like I said its all pending just trying to figure out what I got. I saw a lot of awesome deals out there on vettes. Generally lookin to spend 16-19k when/if it comes time.

If I do keep it, its getting a 383

i went from an LS1 TA to an LS1 vette, 2 years ago... i sold my 98 TA for about $8k with 65k miles on it, and bought the 99 vette for $12k with 74k on it. i miss that TA but what an entirely different and better car the C5 is! i could have kept the TA also as a dd but i wanted a truck. lookin at ur car u could ask $9k easily if u take care of the ripped up seat

Sweet! The Veloster is a pretty nifty little car. I really like them and was gawking over them when Hyundai released the initial images.

The C5 is definitely a nice upgrade. I think the best way to save yourself some money would be to demod your Camaro, and move the parts you want to keep onto your vette, like the cam and intake, for example. Some people like to sell the car as-is, but the fact is, you (usually) don't get as much money for it that way. Just an fyi. Stock parts are cheap and usually easy to come by.

Good luck dude, and while the C5 is definitely a nicer car, I hope you keep the fbody and stick around.

I think 9k is probably a little to high on the price. For 115,000 miles you can definatly find a Z28 for cheaper then 9k. It sounds like your car is still rocking a stock clutch and a stock 10bolt then you say that if you keep it your gonna do a 383 motor swap. Is there something wrong with your motor or do you just want more power?

You might be able to get 9k for the car but if I were you it would probably be more realistic around 7-7500 as the KBB value will probably be around 6500.00 or so..

The only people who use KBB are people who don't know any better! NADA is $7550. With your mods and lower than average annual mileage, you could probably get $8500.

I'm changing the clutch and the thought of the 383 would be for more power, with the upgraded rear and trans.

The only thing I would really want is the headers from my car, but I can't swap those.. Otherwise I want to go a different route with the vette.

This is all just in the air so who knows. Least I have a general idea of how much I can start at.

I'd say between 8-9k too...early 4th gens (93-96) still bring 2.5-4.5k on average stock..w/mods and lower mileage 5.5-6.5k...plus yours has mods...doesn't look gay...is in nice shape...and has the ls1 so 8-9 is reasonable...w/neg still possible. Plus i LOVE the chambered exhaust setup.

Don't get too caught up in 'mods' and value. They can be a double edged sword in resale value. It certainly limits the demand which can lower the price, but you can still get someone who wants one like that which generally keeps up the price. Car looks really clean so that is a big giant bonus.

I think realistically it would be in the $6500-8K range unless you'r willing to hold out longer for the right buyer that might be willing to go a little higher. Of course, the longer you hold out, the more you will spend on it since we know we can't leave cars alone.

Deffinatly get a new clutch. Going from a HCI 346 to a HCI 383 is not gonna give you that much more power for the price you will pay. I did a 383 in my car last year and in total probably dumped around 4000.00 for the assembled short block. I went from a stock 346 to a built 383 so that why I went 383. If I had a HCI 346 I would have went bigger.

If you are really thinking of selling your car then dont dump the money on a set of headers. If you do plan on keeping your car then do get a set of headers. Will probably see at least 10 more HP with a set of LT's..
