Hey man...you can scrap the cats if there is no one interested instead of throwing them in the trash. My friend got a couple of bucks when he got rid of his at a local scrap yard. Just a search on the internet shows there are other facilities that will pay for your old cats and ship them for free. I've never used this service, but used cats are worth something..just an fyi.

the average guy can get about 60 a cat, a shop or customer that is hooked up and get around 100. i just scrapped mine and got 60. depends on the yard and who you know. good luck
