what is a lt1 worth?
hey guys- gals, i am trying to get an idea what my lt1 is worth. it is a 95-96 out of a caprice police car 5.7 liter. it is complete top to bottom and has the serpentine accessorizes minus the ac compressor, it even has the exhaust manifolds. it had a slight knock at start up but i would assume a rebuild anyway. should i sell the serpentine separate, i have seen them sell for a couple hundred on ebay. i also have a 305 with a tuned port injection complete top to bottom it does have harmonic balance r and water pump pulley, i have not looked what year it is,. i personally sold the tuned port on ebay years ago, i dont remember how much but was up there. im just trying to get some advice on how to list them, complete or apart? thank for any help.

A scrap yard will give you about $.10/lb and a handshake

id say 200-250 for the lt1 if someone wants it for parts or the block. you get more splitting it all up. ie block rotating assembly, accessories, bolts etc.
the 305... 100 maybe if you find someone looking for a 305.

Scrap it or spray it down and store it for years

Doubt its worth much, especially if you disclose it is knocking. The block has "327" cast into the side, right?

since its an old service vehicle engine it would need a rebuild anyway, because you know that thing was either idling or at full throttle for over 100k miles lol

yes it does have the cast iron heads,.
thank you for the reply's, i was hoping for a little more than that. maybe ill just take it apart and sell the accessory's separately. i was going to do the rebuild and drop it in my chevelle but that would be to much to change.
