New 90 Second Oil Change Technology!

http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/...fpc0025g300dth

Thought this was pretty cool. Cliff notes for those that dont feel like clicking...Castrol has a new oil cell technology called Nexcell thats a self contained oil reservoir that can be lifted out and replaced with a new one in under 2 minutes. Looks pretty neat. Whats your thoughts?

Dry sump setup, interesting. But in reading another forum, they were relating it to a printer cartridge. It has potential to save time but I don't know about the other claims.

i dont think this would work well in the US. most people here are super cheap and go as long as they can on an oil change. and they complain about the price of an oil change as is. i can't imagine what one of those cells will cost. they say you may not need a mechanic. does it have a filtration system build into it? i see a few problems with it but it is really cool technology and as DIYer/ex-tech it would be great to change oil with out the mess. i guess only time will tell.

Yeah, I believe its filtered as well. There is no way you get all of the used oil out with this system. Its just not possible. I feel it might leave more used oil in the motor than current methods.
