my monte SS lives!!!! well it runs finally...

well, as of tonight, my monte ss runs!!! it took long enough, i bought the car back in feb, started tearing it down in march, now about 7 months later, tonight i finally started up the new engine. The car is nothing too crazy, 87 monte ss t-tops, it HAD a 305(new intake and headers) and a non-stock th-350 tranny, that didnt last too long. Now it has a completely rebuilts 350 tpi motor, setup as speed density, with a world class t5 behind it. Engine is original bore still, I just honed it, had new cam bearings installed and I rebuilt it from there. It has a K&N filter on the throttle body, full length headers, and a true dual 3" exhuast. Now i just gotta put the front clip back on, 4" cowl hood, wheel spacers(to fit the 17" ROH snypers), and a few other little odd and ends, and then i can go cruising and sell it to my gf like i had planned.

Nice Monte... My dad and brother have white SS's. They're both basically stock, though. That's a pretty big cowl you got on there.... your girlfriend isn't gonna mind driving it? That's great... will it be a daily driver?

the cowl really isnt too bad from inside, in the monte u sit up higher than in an f body. I was looking at 2" cowl hoods for $350+shipping, then i found this one locally and I paid 275 for the hood, its still unpainted and barely used. She's fine with the hood. The only things she wanted on the car was manual tranny, loud exhaust, ttops and cowl hood. It will be getting painted all black and interior swapped over from maroon to grey. And yes it will be her daily driver hell, my winter daily driver will be a 95 bronco with a 9" lift and 40" tires.

Congrats, you have officially done better than Justin, who took a year and 2 weeks to get his car running...and it still sits in his driveway!

Nice going Paul!

If you need any help with anything, give me a shout. I know the G-bodies pretty well.
