steering box?

my 88 is a base sport coupe and the steering feels like crap. my 91 Z28 and 92 RS both had an awesome feel even with higher milage. now ive seen people selling "quick ratio" steering boxesfrom 3rd gens and i guess maybe i have a regular one on my base model car?

if there is a differance, whats involved in changing it over?

The difference is internal in the box and the valve on the back of the pump. All direct bolt-in

i have a box from a 88 iroc. not sure what option it was though. $10 if you want it. Youd just have to wait till im in NJ again so i can dig it out. It still has the idler arms and most of the steering linkage on it still, even tie rods i belive. Off a 58k mile car.

Is that Z visible when the box is mounted. Cause I'm 99% sure the box I put into my 86 from a 87 GTA is quick ratio. Feels like it.
