Got rear ended leaving the car show

It was a great day. I went to the Cops and Rodders show had a good time. There was alot of great cars and met a few of our members. I went back to the Nopi show after and I took 3rd place in my Sport Coupe class. Shortly after leaving the park as I was stopped at a red light I got rear ended pretty hard by a 17 year old girl not paying attention to stopped cars. I just cant seem to win. Everytime I am taking her out my girl is getting hit!!!!! WTF! Tunrs oput that her parents own Edison Collision on Rt 1 and want the cahnce to fix it. What do you guys think?

Make sure you go through your insurance and take it to whatever shop you want to. They have no say in where it should be taken, and who says they wont just do a quickie job to shut you up? Take lots of pics and get the insurance involved. Thats what its for.

That suks. Now I know why I only put 7500 miles a year on my car. It's not worth the risk to drive all over this state full of crazy drivers that don't pay attention. Plus gas is getting too expensive. Definitely keep your insurance company involved regardless of who ends up fixing it.

I cant get over it. I was stopped for at least 5 seconds or more before being rearended so it wasnt even a sudden thing. I think it was a pretty big deal to take 3rd place in a show like Nopi and it got ruined by getting hit. I am going to talk with the parents again today or tomorrow and see whats going to be done. Replacement of the rear bumper is already one, and probably the exhaust tips. The bumper never got pushed in. The hatch seemed to open and close fine. And the quarters werent touched or buckled. It shouldnt be to hard to fix. It is convienent that there shop is down the block from me. And will cover me a rental though I dont really need it. I will see what they can do if its not to my liking it will be fixed at my normal shop.

yeah, girls in bikinis definitely bring out the

talk it over with your shop. get an estimate, if nothing else, from your shop and at least two others. get everything in writing. i mean it, everything. take their word at nothing, because if it's not in writing, then they don't have to do it. since they're in the business, they know little things like this and that, and it might save them time and expense, but it might cost you now or down the road.

definitely get your insurance involved. it doesn't matter, since it was obviously her fault, but your insurance is there for YOU, not her, and they will help YOU. so keep them in the loop - they also do this kind of stuff everyday, and could give you a heads up if things don't look or sound right.

good luck, man. it seems like those cars that have the wildest paint jobs, the ones you can't just hit with a touch-up brush and buff it, are the ones that get hit. if it is indeed non-structural like you say, then they should be able to bang it out in a day or two, depending on parts availability. a week, tops.

Go through insurance and everything. If her parents half ass it, what recourse will you have without a police report ans insurance claim?

I definately coverd myself with a police report. Its funny when I called for them someone else had already called 911. I was talking with the Officer and he told me that he had come on duty at 3 pm and had 5 break ins at Raceway park mind you the accident happened around 645 pm. Shows what kind of security etown has. I never once left my ride open when I wasnt there. Bunch of thieves.

lol i took a few pics with a asian chick on your car. i agree with the others. get ur insurance involved. tell them that her parents own a body shop and is willin to do the work and take it from there. good job on the 3rd place btw im not suprised by the amount of break ins. look at how many hondas were there. a honda owner would punch their grandmother off her wheelchair and steal it if it had vtec.

Man that does blow, but dont take it to wrong at least the car isnt as bad as what I have heard from some guy, I meet a guy at chatterbox, he had 1989 Firebird formula, it as 1 of 40 I believe, he had just left a englishtown car show with a 1st place trophy for best car. His car got totaled on the way home by an old lady that hit him dead stopped at 40-50mph

Car is going in today to the shop. Got a written statement for them to sign to cover my butt and a copy of the police report so lets see what happens. I am taking advantage and getting a few things taken cared of. And getting a rental on there dime in which I am getting a van or pick up to move into my new house in Edison so it works out lol.
