Anyone Ever Use Broadway Titles?

I bought a bike yesterday from a guy in PA who had no title for it. Story is he bought it from someone else who's father owned it and the father passed away. The son sold it to this guy with no title and the two of them never worked it out and this guy decided to sell it.

I talked to Broadway Title yesterday and the guy said they should be able to get me the paperwork I need if the bike wasn't last title in NJ which it wasn't. It had PA plates on it. Their site says I need a notorized Bill of Sale. Weird part is it also says you need a valid insurance card, but how can I insure a bike that has no title? Plus I wasn't going to insure it until next spring when it's all put back together.

Has anyone used Broadway before to get a title? Any good or bad input?

i know nothing about broadway but what about the dmv? there is no way of acquiring a title through them? it may take some time, but it seems you are in no rush.

DMV is going to be no use to me unless I have a Bill of Sale from the original owner or a duplicate title from PA on the bike.

Like I said yesterday they said they should be able to do it but today I'm getting skeptical. Once I have the title in my hand I can start getting the bike painted and together.....pics will follow.

I just don't want to end up getting screwed with DMV saying there's no real proof that I own it and that I can't title it in NJ. Then I'll be struggling to get my money back on it.

very true. so i guess you can no longer contact the guy that sold it to you and notorize a bill of sale? good luck and can't wait to see the undertaking

The guy who sold it to me is going to send me a Bill of Sale and I'll get it notorized. I have a few friends who can probably notorize it. But he has no Bill of Sale from the original owner so I'm worried about that. I have contact info on the original owner though and can hopefully get him on the phone if I need to.

oh, i don't think you will have a problem. don't both parties need to be present to get something notorized?

I used them to get a new title for my old '55 Ford. Everything was smooth and no problems. I heard over on one of the hot rod forums that the feds are trying to crack down on titling agencies.

Paul to go through DMV you are going to probably have to go through the hoops and what it comes down to is you put an ad in the paper so that anyone who has the original paperwork comes forward to re-claim the bike. I think it has to run for 3 weeks or something like that, and if no one steps forth, you can go through with all the DMV BS and get your title.

I also heard they are really cracking down on these out of state title places. If you can't get a legit title or bill of sale it's not worth buying the vehicle. They made me get my 70 notarized in Canada!
