You can definately get 5 k w/ the rebuilt trans and the LT1 only have 30k...as long as you have all your receipts, etc.

just to let you know how the fbody market is....i just sold my ls1 camaro for the price range your talking about. although firebirds always got more than camaros id see your range from 3700-4250 for your car. which still isnt a far shot from 5k.

bottom line..a car is worth as much as someone is willing to pay. find the right buyer and youll be fine.

if your looking for something economical. i have two daily driving capable cars for sale for under 2k each. both 5 speed. both single owners. both jap cars. pm me if you want more info.

ill be listing them on here probably next week but I'd give you first crack at em if your serious.

Why not just fix it? A brand new motor and tranny should be easy on milegae, you should be close to stock mpg which isn't that bad.....

Winter kills gas mileage big time on most cars. If you keep track of every fill up you'll see the numbers go up in the warmer weather and down in the winter. So if it warms up shortly it might not hurt you as much. What are you getting right now and what kind of drive do you have? I've been getting around 16-16.5 most of the winter and I got 18-19 most of the summer. I do mostly around town driving with under 45 mph roads and quite a few lights. My old 4Runner got 17 in the winter with the V6 and 20 mpg all summer. That being said, $5K might be pushing it. Most people will look at what blue book value is and not care about the newer motor/trans.

Well, if you drive like that then a 4cyl might not help a whole lot because you will need it to the floor all the time just to match 1/3 throttle of your LT1. But your real savings would probably be in the difference of what insurance costs. Have you checked to see what the insurance would be on a 4cyl car vs your V8?

yeah ease up on the pedal a bit. youll save in gas and maintenance costs for when things break from beating on your car on a daily basis. why not put the lt1 away for a bit and just grab a cheap beater.

Do you have full coverage on both cars? I find it hard to believe a male under 25 isn't paying a big difference for a V8 car. If your Saturn is listed as your normal daily car then that explains the difference. If your Camaro was your daily driver, it would probably be twice the cost to insure.

Nope, the Z is listed with me being the primary and the saturn when listed as my primary was only 200 less. Granted I do not have the full monte with insurance.
