What You Guys Think?

While stumbling thru e-bay yesterday i came across this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...545171200&rd=1

Now i was all psyched to make a bid on this car and noticed it said you could call up and get the buy it now price.so i did and i got in touch with some cat with a serious southern drawl and he said what i was willing to give for it,now i really can't stand car salesman one bit.so i had already check KBB on a normal 94Z and it said $6500 bucks, and that's what i told him.now that's when this kat starts talking some Bo and Luke Duke type stuff and i only understood him say he's looking for 12K for the car, which i then thanked him for his time and wished him all the luck in jumping over all the Ravines in Hazard County.

Now my questions for you guys is.
1. Is that price to much?cant i get a nice LS1 for that price or a well modded LT1.
2. Really,how valuable is a modded 1LE from a collectors viewpoint?
3.Are the Drugs more pure down south before they get up here to the Northeast

Later,

Santos

I'm pretty sure it thats the SLP "TOTL" (two out the left) exhaust. I had that on my GTA. I really liked the sound and I didnt really mind having it exit on only one side.

i thought that 93 was teh only year that the 1LE package was no a/c in 4th gens. interesting.
it is a clean lookin car. even as a common Z28 it could easily go for 4500-5000 in good condition with that low mileage.

1) yes. $6500 is a perfect price. a 1LE is not sufficient enough to double the price. the car is not a collector piece yet.

2) any change from stock is considered a no-no as far as collector pieces are concerned. how the changes affect the price vary, though, from car to car depending on a number of variables including, but not limited to, year, availability at time of purchase, number actually produced at the factory, etc.

3) yes, the closer you are to the point of entry, the purer the product. he is close to any number of entry points including texas and miami, florida.

thats a very clean looking car inside/out from what i can see...not 12k clean but 6-8k clean for a 1LE...just because of how rare they are..though id like to see the rpo codes to make sure its actually a 1LE car. I always heard the single exhausts were slightly less restrictive because of the design then the dual exit because the exhaust basically has to turn around to exit through the pass side but yes an ls1 could be purchased for less at this point but i doubt it goes for much more then 6 grand because its more of a tweener...few collectors would want this car and its too overpriced for an lt1 car.

Which suspension compnents does 1le come with anyway? since...

"It has BMR fabrication suspension components, which are the lower control arms, panhard rod, and adjustable torque arm. There is an SLP strut tower brace and aluminum drive shaft. There are 3.73 gears and a Hyper-tech power programmer. There is also a 160degree thermostat. There is an air charger and a Granitelli mass air sensor. "

Maybe it's not even a 1le??

I know they are, and also I believe the 1LE has not just better bushings but better parts than stock. What I'm saying is that if the things that were special about 1le have been replaced anyway, why market the option?

Didn't the police car Camaros also come with the better alternator, oil cooler, trans cooler, and 160 speedo? Or was that just the other cars?

Umm... you're talking B4C police package, we're talking 1LE "autocross" package

Nope, they had the same stamped steel LCA's and panhard bar as the other cars. They prolly came with the best available sways for that year, but I'm not sure.

1LE suspension components include a 32/21 mm front/rear sway bar combination in lieu of the normal FE2 suspension 30/19 mm. The front spring rate was 51 N/mm as on a normal V8 Formula/Trans Am. Rear spring stiffness was 19.9 N/mm also as on a normal V8 Formula/Trans Am. This Package also included different shock valving, stiffer transmission mount, panhard rod, front and rear control arm bushings, and engine oil cooler.

1994 1le:
1LE Package is the same as 1993, except the suspension components include a 32/19 mm front/rear sway bar combination in lieu of the normal FE2 suspension 30/19 mm. The front spring rate increased from 51 N/mm on a normal V8 Formula/Trans Am to 63. Rear spring stiffness carries a variable rate of 23 to 30 N/mm compared to 19.9 on a normal V8 Formula/Trans Am.
