Som serious 5H1T happened at my job today (kinda long story)
It was prolly like 5:30AM (the time I show up for work)... by the time I get there, probably 5 of the 15 people are already sitting down, drinking their coffee, bull****ting etc etc. ((For those that dont know, I am a garbage man)) Anyway, theres a driver (a really cool guy) who will be named "Greg". Gregs been working there for 14 years, going through somewhat of a midlife crisis.. He smoked 4 packs of Marlboro Reds a day (no lie), his writeup folder is about 3 inches thick, his wife left him for a younger man, he's gotten caught drinking on the job, not calling out sick for three weeks straight.. basically, a total of two years of his working life was spent in AA rehab. His favorite saying is "My mom died of cigarettes, my dad died from alchohol, here I am, dragracing life". Last time his drinking problem occured, the township said "You have had NUMEROUS breaks, one more time and you are terminated".
Well today, was probably his last day.
My boss puts loaders with different drivers here and there, and today I happened to be placed with "Greg". Now "Greg" was sitting in the garbage truck already, hasn't said any good mornings... he just punched in and went into the truck (we sit around till 6:15ish). So I figure Ill get a headstart and jump in the truck... He seemed fine, started talking. We leave. About a mile down the road, my boss gets on the CB radio and calls "Greg", asking him if he had his loader. He gets on the radio and says "Yeah, I got Noah with me". And my boss says "Ok can you turn around, I need to see you". So we turn around, and walks in the shop. I can see them talking through the window, and watched "Greg" sign off a vacation sheet because he took yesterday off unexpectedly (he has no sick time). "Greg" came back in the truck and says "Ok lets get going"... we go about a football field down the road and my boss calls Greg back again. This time, everyone is outside in a circle bull****ting (VERY untypical), and Greg walks in the office and sits down. I see my NORMAL DAILY driver (name is Jimmy) waving me out and says "Get your stuff dude, your coming with me"
Turns out, my boss called Roxbury PD and said "Greg" reaked of beer, and blew a .79 three hours after we started work. The "Intoxicated Limit" for a Commercial Driver is .4!!!!! Holy ****!!! He must've been at .9 when we were leaving this morning!! I was gonna be hanging off the back of a 18-Ton garbage truck today with a drunk driver at the wheel!!!! **** was serious, it had me bugging out all day. We are gonna find out what happens to him tomorrow.

do you mean .079? The limit in NJ in general is .08 (since being lowered from .1) Sounds strange to have .4 as a commercial driving limit, but then again, .04 is like mouthwash.. which I guess would make sense for being on the job. Who knows. Still crazy ****!

Thats what i mean .04 ... its mouthwash, but when you have a CDL everything is cut in half... when i go for my CDL road text in June, i gotta start slowing down on the road... like ur maximum points allowed on your liscense is half of that of a normal person (7 for CDL i think)...
my bad, i forgot to add the first zeros... he blew a .079, limit is .04 for CDL driver, and .08 is regular driver. 1 hour after he blew a .079 he blew a .068. They dropped him off at home and told him to pick up his truck around 2 in the afternoon.

Thats rediculous that someone would show up to work drunk, let alone work where you have to drive with someone hanging off the back of your truck. A lot of people claim they feel fine, even above the real legal limit, but its just F-ing rediculous to put other peoples lives at stake so someone can drown their sorrows.

.04 is the limit for CDL licensed drivers, regardless of the vehicle they are in.
people have shown up to work after a night of partying still drunk fromt he night before. it happens all of the time. unfortunately for Greg, he's a CDL licensed driver... and everyone who has a CDL (even those contemplating it) knows about the reduced limits, so there's no reason for him to get ripped and then show up for work still drunk from the night before.
i stopped drinking when i got my CDL.
