Finally Dropped My Car Off

I don't hit the boards too often but I figure I will let you guys know what's been up with the yellow 93z.

Monday May 16th I started talks with my machine shop on building a new motor for my Camaro. Yada yada and he told me it would take baout 2 1/2 weeks. Well it took a week alone to figure out the block I gave him wasn't going to cut it. So a week wasted on that so finally he gets the new block. I stopped in there a bunch of times to check on progress and he just ordered the internals maybe 2 1/2 weeks ago and began the motor. When I last saw the motor it had pistons installed and they were waiting on the new cam shaft. Basically that takes me to today, July 5th, one day after I finally had my car towed over to the shop. I towed it on July 4th and left the car right in fornt of his garage so it would be right in the way. i am pretty pissed that they keep dragging this **** on so whatever. Anyways today is day number 51 that they have been workingon this motor for me. Supposedly it was supposed to be done by this friday, but by the way things have gone, I don't see my car done for another 2 weeks, estimating myself a date of July 20th. We shall see...

If anyone cares the place is called R&L Automotive in Emerson off of Old Hook Road right next to KDM Tuning. As of right now, I don't recommend them for **** unless you don't mind be pulled around by strings and don't mind not having your car for 2 and 1/2 weeks...I mean A MONTH AND 1/2 GOING ON 2 MONTHS!!!!

R&L is a huge rip-off, they do a tiny bit of work and charge an outrageous price. I rarely have work done by them, thats only if i cant do it myself. They are one of the few shops in this area so they can get away with pulling this ****. When i build my new motor, i'm doing it myself, just the machining will have to be sent out, but that will NOT be R&L, i''ll find a place with a good reputation. but i will say R&L is better than paramus tech.

ha - yes much better than paramus tech - im not even saying that the quality of work they do isnt good - because im sure everything will turn out perfect in the end, but i agree that they are taking their sweet ass time with everything - i would have loved to gather a group of peopel to help me build a new motor but i dont have the time to wait for all that to happen - apparently its taking forever anyway - i have seen the motor so far with the pistons installed and it looks pretty hott - naturally we'll c how it FUNCTIONS though . anyway, it now being Thursday July 7, they have said it will be complete next week.......again, i highly doubt it
