5th Gen Camaro - possible repost
I don't know if anyone else has seen this, but Motor Trend did an article a couple years ago that I just recently found. It's probably the only 5th Gen concept I've seen that didn't jump on the "retro" bandwagon, which the 5th gen was never going to be anyway. I think this would be closer to an actual production car then, say, Kris Horton's imaginings.
Without further ado, here is the 5th gen Camaro:
I also did some slight tweaking to the drawing to create a Z28 model. I'm not the greatest with photoshop, but i touched up the areas I thought needed some help (the grille, headlights, and taillights.) I also added some black stripes, a la the classic Hugger Orange/Black paint scheme, and a Chevy emblem to the grille.

That was done 3 or so years ago, right as they were bringing down the axe on it.
These are not any GM drawings, so dont treat it as so. They had a few pictures, as well as they ran pictures of a possible next Gen Mustang, which look NOTHING like the new one does.
GM has never released a picture of a 5th gen. The first showings of any design will be at this years Detroit Auto Show.

i never said it was a GM drawing....
However, I think it is closer to anything GM would have put out as opposed to the "retro" designs that popped up after the '05 Mustang was introduced.

I remember retro designs since 2002. In fact they ran a more retro design and even talked about a retro Camaro in that MT article.
I was more or less clearing up that it wasnt a GM picture for the people in this thread. Anytime I see a "5th gen" picture, there is always "wow GM cant design **** and they suck omg omg they cant design cars."

concorde grille, benz headlights, and camaro fog lights/sidemarkers. nasty looking....in a bad way of course. So far I havent been completely thrilled with any rendering of a fifth gen F body. I'm very antsy about what GM will be bringing to the auto show

thank god they didn't introduce that. if sales was their concern, they surely would've tanked after a car like that. yes, i know it wasn't GM, but you know how people tend to become influenced by what is in the environment...
i still say GM can't go wrong with a retro design. we'll have to wait until january, i guess.

Nope, not any time soon.
But, there are no plans as of right now to continue the GTO past this year. The Monaro will not be built on the new VE platform, so unless GM NA picks up the slack, there will be no new coupe for Holden.
Recent news of Sigma lite has been brought up, but its confusing because there is also talk of a cheaper Zeta that is also int he works. I cant seem to find out if they are one in the same, or if one is BS and the other is real, but my money is on a Sigma Lite since its already to go for GM-NA.

actually, the grille is reminiscent of the first/second gen grilles. i'm not too crazy about the headlights, i tried to "connect" them in the pic i did, almost more like the 4th gen lights.

the pattern of the grille definitly looks like an early second gen, but the shape of the grille and the overall shape of the front end is mostly concorde.

The rear reminded me of an Eagle Talon.
I hope they dont jump on the retro nutsack like everyone else. Every generation of the F-body became more and more sleek and stylish. Keep the trend going with the 5th gen.
