Ok, so what's your excuse for not having your mods done yet?

I think I started the Pacesetter header install on my 96 SS almost a full month ago. It's still not done and ready yet. So I was thinking what was the problem and why am I not done yet? Oh yeah, the list of excuses:

1 - early Dec was wayyyy too cold in the garage to lay on the ground(35 degrees inside the garage)
2 - tweaked back big time shoveling snow, 1 week delay there
3 - decided to do the motor mounts while the exhaust was out of the way(that's an easy 1 week delay while waiting for the parts)
4 - stupid Xmas holiday so I had to shop for gifts(still too cold in garage)
5 - couldn't separate y-pipe from cat-back so had to cut the pipe(I could only get the sawzall 3/4 way through due to the pipe in the tunnel so I had to finish with a hacksaw blade by hand)
6 - too tired, sore, old to work 2 days in a row
7 - wrong transmission in car(4L60E from an Astro Van!) so I had to hacksaw off the "ear" to get the passenger side header up into place
8 - too tired, sore, old to work 2 days in a row
9 - EGR fitting was lined up in the way with the trans dipstick tube. Couldn't get the bolt loose holding the trans and dipstick tube to engine so I had to use the hacksaw blade by hand to cut the bracket
10- too tired, sore, old to work 2 days in a row
11- Xmas
12- got sick for a week

So hopefully the excuses are over and I'll get the job done within the next week. Although there seems to be a recurring theme!

my excuse
1. need a new y pipe or headers (either get flowtech y pipe or hedmen headers)
2.NO SKILLS
3.Have to see if I will pass inspection
4.No money to pay some one to install the parts (refer to 2)

I'm not talking about not having the money for the parts but rather who has parts to go on their car but haven't taken the time to do the work.

The weather is a huge factor in me putting **** off. Another is money. I sorta put more important things off to pay for my transmission and I'm behind on my bills. So right now I have no mod money at all. I have stuff laying around that need to be finished but Im always missing that one thing to finish it and I cant do it without it.

In the process of repainting my room and I need to pick up a fuel pump from a friend so I can replace that. I've got SFC's, LCA's, and LCA relocation brackets sitting here..but I want to repaint under the car before I have the SFC's welded in and I need to replace the fuel pump first so I can start the car. It all has snowballed

I guess I'm the oddbal here. Car is going to a friend of mine for a complete wilwood 4 wheel disc set up, new master, prop valve, lines, basically everything brake system related. Scoop is at the painters getting done. New overflow, window and door cranks ordered. Other small stuff will be ordered before the show at Ft. Washington the end of March.

I have had headers for the camaro for over a year and a half now and they are still in the box, I just havent had time that I can take the car off the road to fix the headers, trans mount, and a few other odds and ends that will take a little bit of time to finish up.
