Hood Flew up on highway!
About 5 P.M. I'm on Rt. 280 and the alternator belt comes off. I pull over and fix it. I gently push the hood back down but obviously not hard enough. Soon as I pull off the hood flies up! The two back corners are bent up and the paint is all cracked. Some damage to the right fender. No windshield damage, though. This weekend when its warmer I'll see if I can bend the corners. If not I'll be on the lookout for a new hood. 2 1/2 inch Cowl preferred.

wow, that sucks. Wierd thing is that me and my boss were driving to a site today around 2:00, and he started talking to me about his buddy with a old nova or something. Then he begins to tell me about how the hood flew up when he was in it with him...... strange coincidence.
Usually those corners seem like a pain in the ass to get perfect again i think. But, you might be able to get it back straight again. Paint is another story...

Thanx wayfast84! I found the same hood on that site for 50 bucks. If I can't save this one I'll pick that one up. Hope I can get a body shop to match the paint!

at least that is all that happened, fixing a hood is way better then totaling your car. that **** is scary, i was driving my buddies 69 chevy p/u pulled out on a 35 mph road and the hood flew up, it scared the **** out of me. i just told my buddy to look out his window and tell me when to turn down the next street. i wasnt going fast, but deff. didnt expect that.
