well, the car was working really well saturday night. randy transfered into the feature through the heat pretty easily despite some early excitement when another driver ran over(and i mean over) his right rear. thankfully ti was jsut some cosmetic damage, nothing a good hammer couldn't solve.
feature time came and it all sort of fell apart from there. randy started 5th, quickly moved into third, started working on 2nd place, and then...................THE ****ING MOTOR STARTED CUTTING OUT AGAIN!!!!!
randy cut it back to part throttle and still managed to fight for 6th for a while before it cut off completely and he got rear ended by another car.
the track announcers even mentioned that it was nice to see the #99 up front after all teh struggles he has had this year.
randy found the source of the problems today, fuel pump push rod was beat. supposed to be 5 3/4inches long, his was only 5 3/8 long. not a good thing. a replacement will be in tomorrow or wednesday and hopefully that will be the last of the stupid little **** biting us in the ass this year.
teh car working so well did lead to a few nice pictures though. here is a good one.
