careless ticket

anybody ever get a careless driving ticket, cause i just got one, and im really mad so im hoping its no points and less than 100 bucks, any way, this is what happened, i was driving a friend home and the road was clear so i gave it a little gas, the speed limit is 50, i was going maybe 55-60 so not too bad, cop comes outta nowhere and gives me a ticket, niceeeee

BTW whats the price and/or points or not

lets see ive gotten about 5 or so of them in the 1.5 years ive had my firebird usually you can get them downgraded to unsafe driving (which doesnt carry any points, but you can only use it 3 times. on the 4th time its an automatic 4 points.... i found that out the hard way.... ***%&n stafford court ) but it'll cost you a decent amount of money (somewhere in the ball park of $2-500, i had to drop about a grand on a carless driving ticket and an improper passing ticket to go from 6 points to no points) the careless driving ticket itself is 2 points

Yup, careless is 2 points. They usually downgrade it though, just plead not guilty and talk to the prosecutor. Theyll usually do no points and a fine (no more than 300 Id say from past experience, but its better than points).

it gets expensive after awhile if the cop gave you a ticket for doing 5-10 mph (granted it IS against the law, but still....) he must of had a hard-on for being an ******* to people...

Be lucky there wasnt a speeding ticket attached to that careless driving ticket.

exceeding the speed limit isnt careless driveing, its speeding, changeing lanes without signaling, weeveing in and out of traffic (changeing lanes more than once within a certian distance),tailgateing, crossing a doubleyellow line without passing, useing the shoulder to pass is careless,BUT speeding should only be speeding not careless.

i got a careless for fishtailing around a turn, got ripped an ******* too lo. but i got a cop buddy to call him and he told the prosecutor to knock it down to unsafe.

if the cop wasnt using radar and visually saw you speeding hes better off giving you a careless ticket so he doesnt have to prove you were speeding

true, but in most cases its cheaper/better for the cop to give you a careless driving ticket then it is a speeding ticket. i believe the upper level speeding tickets (15+ mph over) carry more points and heftier fines. so in most cases its cheaper/better to get a careless driving ticket then a speeding ticket.

the same thing happened to me when i was heading down from wayne to bills to get tuned. i was doin at 60 on valley rd where the speed limit is like 40 or 45 and since it was like 8am and the cops were out (which i didnt think of) he caught me and ws bull****tin with me cuz he was in the same position i was back in the day (he had a camaro) and he gave me a careless ticket instead of the 15-20+ ticket

lowest level speeding is 2 points, same as careless, i dunno at what level speeding becomes 4 points, i think 20-25 and up, but it may be 15-20. you can get a speeding ticket for 1-9mph over posted limit, ive seen it.

I also once got a careless 5 years ago, i left a parkign lot sideways 1st 2nd and 3rd gear through the center of my town and a cop was doing door checks, saw me, and came after me. I didnt argue it since i could have been charged with more, and i didnt want the local cops to ahve it out for me so i plead guilty and paid it. Now the local cops dont even look twice at my cars, but then again i have calmed down a lot, but it helps with tints and such.

oh, one more thing, any out-of-state speeding ticket and violation(2, 4, 6, 8 points...etc) just carries only 2 points to NJ, except for Michigan and a few other states, they transfer nothing. my sis lives in detroit, i love it when i leave Ohio into MI.

it doesn't matter whether it's speeding or careless driving to the insurance company. they are still going to bend you over and not use grease or give you the common courtesy of a reach-around.

stop speeding.

it's so easy to do and so much easier on the wallet. oh, and you'll save money in gas and tires, too. no more panic stops if someone suddenly gets in front of your car, so your brakes will last longer. basically an all-around better situation.
