General Plan/FAQ (Please Read This First)

What we are looking to accomplish is having a fun series that everyone can enjoy and that allows as many as possible to participate. There are a lot of different factors in consideration currently, some we are in control of, some we are not.

The goal is simple, have as much fun as possible with as many F-body enthusiasts as possible.

1. Event dates/Weather: We are going to make our best effort to hold the events at times that are more likely to have good racing air. What we are shooting for is to have the season kick off in April, have our second event in May, an event in early June, then late August, and finish it all up in September. That is however only an idea of what we would like. The availablility of tracks and the agreements we make with the facilities will determine exactly how everyhting is going to work out.
Along with our attempts to avoid the heat we are going to try to work with the tracks to make sure rain dates are available and with in a reasonable amount of time of the original scheduled date.
Our goal is to have the 2007 season include four or five events and end the year with a champions banquet.

2. Locations: Our current plan is to reach out beyond the borders of New Jersey for some of the events. We are talking to venues around the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region to create as broad an appeal as possible and give the most owners possible an opportunity to see first hand what we have to offer.
If you have a favorite facility or know any good contacts at tracks that may be interested in the series, please shoot me a PM with contact info/track web address.

3. Class Rules: Once announced as final, the rules will be locked in for the duration of the season. The only reasons the rules themselves could change is if there is a safety issue that effects a class or if something in the rules requires further clarification (the rule won't actually change, just the definition will be expanded).
Also, expect the rules will be expanded a lot as suggestions come in and are considered. Before we finalize anything, we will post up what we are looking at as clearly as possible, using a seperate thread for each class.
As suggestions are made please be as specific as possible with what you have concern with and what you think a fair solution would be. Just telling us that something sucks doesn't really help anyone.
I will apologize now, because I know we will not be able to create classes to fit everyone and not everyone will end up happy with all the rules.

4. Mufflers: You will all see mufflers mentioned as a part of every class rules package, BUT, the rules in most classes will be posted with the "*" next to it. This means that muffler rules will only be enforced in certain classes at tracks that have noise limitations or muffler rules on the day of our event. The rule is being included so that everyone understands and can be expected to be prepared should we attend a facility that requires mufflers. We will make sure everyone is warned well ahead of time what the status of the muffler rules will be for any given weekend.
There are two classes that will require mufflers be used at all venues regardless of local noise rules, the True Street Radial Bracket and Pure Street Heads Up class.

5. Event Costs: We will have to work with the tracks before we can lock in on a price to participate. For now we are looking to be in the $30-40 range to participate in any race or show catagory and $12-15 per person to spectate. More details will be available on this in a few months, it is not currently a top priority.

That is a good start for now. More information will be added to this thread as more questions are asked and answered, so check back often.

Thanks everyone for supporting the club and the series. Hope to see you all at the track.
