Went Junkyard hopping today **NWS**

Today Tim (njspeeder), a few of my buddies, and yours truely went junkyard hopping looking for a rather wide array of parts. We started our venture at Friendship Junkyard, I believe its in Friendship NJ. They used to have good stuff (older stuff and some newer) but now all the old stuff has been pretty much picked over, but still somt good sights to see, even though its very depressing for any true car enthusiast. The main attraction was something I found off the path a ways a few years ago, its the "Emergency ****".

Without any success there, we decided to go over to PA, to a junkyard right off Rt. 1. I had been there many years ago, and never had a problem. My father and I wandered for a few hrs there when I was probably 15. Today, Tim and I were just wandering aimlessly, we found a bunch of Fiero GTs.

Well we found a 69 Firebird with a 400/4speed, a 74 GTO, many 2nd and 3rd Gen camaros, two 57 Chevy's, and an ~75 Trans Am, that was originally white with a white interior.

Well, as we were wandering (no one told us where we could and could not go) this crazy looking ******* of a guy came up on a huge John Deere earth mover looking machine, and started yelling at us. He told us that we werent supposed to be in this "fenced in" area, that lacked any type of fencing, or signs, and asked if we were "****ing idiots" and said that he hoped we would never come back. I simply replied that I knew we werent going to be going back to that **** hole any time soon. He followed us *YES FOLLOWED* us out of the place WITH the earth mover. Talk about one lazy prick! Since we had split up we asked the few buddies that were still in there after we were escorted out to get prices on something and he kicked them out too, telling them they were closing. The funniest part is that this place is open ONLY saturdays from 11am-2pm and we got kicked out at 12. Well, this is a warning to anyone who wants to go to this place, the guy is a TOTAL tool, and I will post the sign that they had up front. I think Tim and I will be going back after haircuts and a shave

Oh....and one last little comment. I made sure that I didnt leave empty handed, especially since we had to pay $5 to get in. I really liked that 75 Trans Am, so I "borrowed" a little momento from it....

i can honestly say, this is the first time i have ever been kicked out of anyplace without either trying or actually deserving it. we literally did nothing wrong, had jsut stopped to check out a first gen camaro shell i spotted.

sorry liz, we got kicked out before the lady we talked to on teh way in gave us a price on the parts from teh fiero. i am really hoping they don't do anything stupid with that car. it appears complete other than a missing spoiler.

maybe the other posts about language on the board didn't register with you. we are trying to clean things up a bit so that more people can enjoy the club site without worrying about what is going to come up on the screen.
you also know that we already do not allow nudity on the board and you should know that jon is not the kind of guy that would try to get away with something like that.

A 74 GTO? The Nova-like one? They are pretty rare.

If I didn't just spend too much money, I'd really consider going to look at that. They just did a write up on it in Hemmings MM a few months ago. I assume it was for sale?

One of these?

Just think, all the cool suspension stuff for 1st gens fits that too.

hard to tell if it was for sale or not. the place does impound and tow away work. so they don't have titles for a lot fo the cars. plus, teh guy was a complete jerk so there is no telling how much he would want for it anyway.

Yeah, the way he got pissed off about how we were back there, kinda made me wonder whats back there that really shouldnt be.
Bonzo: the GTO was not too bad, it was *do-able* but still kinda rough.
Tsar: I apologize that I put NWS in my thread, I forgot that you wrote the rules of both the board, and the rules of how I see NWS...
Tim: Ill definitely go back, that guy didnt remember us after a few more beers.

Hm, sneaking into a j-yard, soundsl liek somethign im in for, let me know when you wanna do that, if not for the fun, do it for the GTO, or the Fiero's. There's a little j-yard where i lived, that had alot of old cars in it few years ago. it had a couple 67 t-birds with 429's, but never got to tear one out and have it for the hell ofit. also theres a 74 porsche 914 there......yeah the crapiest porche ever, but still its a porsche. the guys pretty cool, but idunno if hes still around anymore, the township started cracking down on family j-yards round here.
