Friggin' shop jabronies!
I used to have 2 friends in the area that I would have work on my cars when it was out of my league, or I didn't feel like working on it. But they both moved away, so now I'm kinda stuck for people to work on my car. Anywho, my Caddy needed some work, including a front end alignment. So, I took it to a local STS where my buddy used to work. I dropped the car off Friday night, so they could have it all day Sat. They called me at 400 on Sat, and told me it was done, except for the alignment. he told me I could pick it up, and then come back for the alignment. That would pretty much defeat the purpose, so I told him I would leave the car, and to do the alignment first thing Monday morning, so I would be able to pick it up around lunchtime. In the meantime I'm Bogarting my wife's truck. So, I get up this morning, and see that they haven't called me. Something told me I better call them instead of just showing up, so I called 'em. Sure enough, they haven't done the alignment yet, and said it wouldn't be ready until 230 or 300. Well, I need to leave for work no later than 130, so I rip the guy a new one for not having the car ready. Now I have to Bogart the wife's truck again, and she has things she need to do, so it puts her at a loss. I gotta find me a real mechanic again!

Its a shame that at a place like that your alignment does not mean as much as the twenty possible brake jobs on the lot. My Dad who is nearly 70 took their jeep to one of those shops by mistake because he could not remember where I made an appointment for state Inspection. He comes home with a bill for brakes all around. Funny thing I relaced the brakes a month before along with drums and rotors because he could not hear the noise. Best advice for everyone ask for your old parts.
I can find you a good shop if you tell me what area is good for you.

that is odd, cause I know around here alignments are hunted down and are big money if they can be done.
Next time Bob, roll on down to the SAC.
