ALMS pwns you.
NASCAR is on the pole. I nearly snapped my neck listening to the Toyota guy talk about NASCAR and how great it was, and showing off the new Camry race car. Its outstanding how unchallenged Toyota is trying to make themselves more American.

ALMS is #1 among pro racing in the US. Grand Am is running itself into the ground, just like the other sanctioning body that the owners run, NASCAR. lol
attendance is down, tv viewership is down, merch sales are down. i love it, only another year or two until nascrap falls off the radar and i can get back to watching real racing on speed channel.
i would say that the SCCA has the most competitive road racing you can find and with so many classes you are sure to find cars that you like to watch throughout the day

there wouldnt be much racing, ANY racing on american tv if it wasnt for NASCAR. this is where all american racing started. its one of the few forms of racing that is at least somewhat all-american, save for toyotas abortion. no other form of racing lets the fans get so close, right up to the pits, the drivers, everything. i just watched the start of the F1 race now, and saw how massa blew off the speed channel reporter, how hes 'not allowed' to talk to anyone before a race. what kind of **** is that? ANY NASCAR driver will talk to any fox or speed reporter, at any time. in F1, the winning drivers have to run into the main office, forbidden to say a word to anyone. in NASCAR, the first words spoken by the winner are broadcast right 1st by fox or speed. now i do like other forms of racing, ill watch about anything, but how dare someone knock the only american form of racing we have left. there wouldnt BE any alms on tv if it wasnt for NASCAR. are you forgetting how huge the 24hrs at daytona was a few years ago, soley because of the half dozen NASCAR drivers in the race?? Dale Earnhardt alone brought an enourmous fan base with him that watched the race. its the first 24hr race i ever watched, and ever since NASCAR drivers have been competing in it, THEIR viewership has been up.

Don't forget the NHRA... granted the races only last a few seconds but it's still tons of fun to watch.
