TGO troubles
I'm putting on new valve covers/wire looms and I'm looking at the vacuum lines coming off the back of the plenum. One goes from the FPR to the plenum and the other comes off the plenum and goes to this fitting which splits and half goes to HVAC and the other goes up to the canister in the front of the car. I ditched the canister but the ball looking canister is still next to the fender which that one vacuum line goes to. I'm just wondering what that fitting does and what that vacuum line is that runs to the front of the car to see if I can ditch it and if I should just cap them off or what. I try simple searches like "tpi vacuum lines" and I ger no results. Any knowledge on this?

The "ball looking canister" is the vac source for you vents. That is what allows them to move from defrosnt, to vents to floor. I actually moved mine to under the dash in the 77.

Interesting, so I should probably just buy new hose for everything (looks weathered) and leave it at that. Thanks Scott

vacuum lines, like the PCV, are a source of problems. a tiny pinhole can cause a myriad of symptoms, and have you chasing your tail for days at a time only to "seal" itself and go away for a while. all of this only because it is weathered.
replace everything you can find.

I needed to replace every rubber line in the 77. I found that most parts stores only carry small packaged lengths, which added up quickly.
I found this site looking for Dayco bulk. Rubber fuel line on the cheap.

A lot don't seem to anymore - or don't care to fill the thing up anymore. I agree, weaksauce. They used to carry hardware in drawers too.
