jeep owners
More specifically Grand cherokee owners. Anyone know if there is a way to disconnect the seatbelt bell that chimes CONSTANTLY if you don't have your seatbelt fastened???
And please no comments about how I should wear my seatbelt and not worry about disconnecting a safety feature.
Thanks.

in any car i've seen you can pull the wire out the bottom of the part attached to the seat and there's a connection in there.
but i don't see why it's so hard to just put it on

Most if not all seat belt recievers are just N/C or N/O switches and the seat belt opens or closes the circuit switch. I have tried it before......
In the Solstice I usually just crank the music since the BCM makes the sound come from the speakers, but the volume is limited so the music drowns it out. The passenger light on the dash is annoying though....

Some cars have butt switches that detect weight in the seat. I seem to remember my buddy's 2006 GC having this... BeltAlert or something. I'm not 100% sure.

Most newer cars have this, most GM cars do AFAIK, that is why the chime goes off if the belt is not hooked up

Hmm not sure but my GF's Carolla's like that also, sometimes I wanna run it into a tree. I do wear my belt and when i forget it does remind me. Not saying you should, but try to get yourself into the habit.

I do wear it, but as I'm pulling down my street or running around the corner to the quicky mart I just go and it's annoying hearing BING BING BING BING BING BING. If it did it once or twice fine, but the damn thing never stops.

probably the wierdiest way to do it but i remember when a cop was telling me he was having this problem he said he went to the junkyard and using a seatbelt cutter snipped off the clip of a car a just put it in when he drove around lol.
