What Intake Manifold?

Okay heres the deal, I am rebuilding the 327 and am trying to see what Intake I should really go with here, because ive been getting mixed answers...I know Im going to end up testing with a few, but I just want to get a better understanding here. Ill start with the vehicles set-up. The car will weigh about 3500 lbs with driver the motor will be as follows:

327- .030 over (speed pro pistons)
-Lunati Voodoo cam 241/249 .525"/.546" on a 110
-Dart II 2.02 heads w/ stamped roller-tip rocker arms
-750 Holley DP
-Hooker Super Comps w/ 2.5" dumped exhaust
-Holley Blue Fuel Pump
-I know there is more and I will update it tomorrow, but im exhausted right now and cant think.

The car will be running a ST10 4speed and 4.10s

I have a Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, a Edelbrock Torker (single plane), and a Weiand Stealth (single plane). Those at the moment are my options, unless I pick something up. The motor with the previous setup was an RPM beast and made a bit of horsepower up top and I would imagine the same out of the new setup. I think its going to now see a 50/50 mix of street and strip. Ive been told to keep the Performer RPM on it because of its ability to make power and keep streetability, ive been told to go with the single plane to make smoother power, and now I am just confused. Like I said I will be trying them all and see what makes the better power, but I just need some clarification for now.

Dual plane. Performer RPM for streetability. Seems like it might be a bit too much carb as well, but that's just my opinion.

The Torker is a POS as far as power goes. I have seen dyno sheets that have shown it to make less power than the Performer RPM, even up high. It is a good manifold if you are hurting for hood clearance and have few choices.

I used a 650 for a year and a half now, stepped up to my buddies 750 and it made so much better power...i thought so too, but I couldnt argue with the way it ran.

And believe it or not I do have a hood clearance problem. The cowl hood has a complete base and Im not about to cut that up.

Yeah I thought it was gonna run horribly, but it was pretty sweet...i had it on all of Ocean City, MD for the show there in may and it was pulling better than it ever had. When I returned the carb and put my 650 back on was when the motor problems began

I would go with the Edelbrock Performer RPM.

Do you find that you sit in the upper RPM range more? The 327 spins faster than a 350, and with that cam the 750 is a good match I'd say. If you tend to keep it in the upper RPM range and you want to race it, look at a manifold, like the Brodix HV1011 (for stock port design heads), that sits between 3500-7200.

Well on the old setup the thing really was an RPM motor, it LOVED high RPMs and that was the main reason the thing actually moved pretty well, I would imagine the new setup will be very similar. Like I said its probably going to be a good mix of track and street time now so Im willing to try a different manifold.

if you were using a solid lifter cam and want it to sound real lopey and make great power - cranes Saturday night special is the real deal - 518 / 536 - i think 240 250 - on a 106 center line - 327 3500 lbs w/ 750 DP Perf RPM with a 1 inch fiber block under carb - it needs the the lower CL # to make low end power, short stroke big bore and not a lot of crank swept weight - they like to rev and the faster it can get up their the better - just my idea using that combo years back -- glide with 3800 conv if really racing and street a 700 trans 2800 conv no lock up - my choice 64 cc chambers in heads the 72 wont work with a 327 to small a piston volume area, with a longer then stock duration cam -- just my take for what it may be worth - jz

Thanks John, yeah I was running the Performer RPM with a 1" spacer already. They are 64CC heads also. That cam sounds pretty sweet, however I have already purchased the cam I posted up...Ill try it out for a bit and see how it works out.
